I did have RS suspension on my T2 for a while. Far too stiff for the road and ended up changing for Roock progressive, which is great. However, if you are using it mainly for the track RS suspension will be fine.

Can you give specs on RS suspension?

If you are going to make a change and depending on your budget, I would consider using camber plates, Motons or JRZ adjustable shocks, heavier springs and larger sway bars. I'll give you the details on mine if you are interested in going that direction.

man you are talking $$$$$$$ to go this way.... get some H&R or rook aftermarket and you would notice a difference. Mine has H&R and it takes the corners better than stock without needing to be so harsh.

No doubt. it costs $$$$ and what you want to do with the car. That's why I asked. Here's mine, still driven on street:
Moton Club Sports (dbl. adj.)
570lb front / 800lb rear
25mm adj. front sway bar
22 mm adj. rear sway bar
Front camber plates - monoballs
RS Strut Tower Brace
993 TT brakes front and 964T fronts moved to rear
SS brake lines

There is no comparison to the old suspension - the car is just vastly superior. Warning: this is a slippery slope and next thing you know you are into race seats, harnesses, roll bars, larger wheels sticky tires, etc. Just ask Miles

The monoballs cost a bomb and can be too harsh for 100% street.

It depends how far you want to take it and how much money you have to burn!

Oh and Jeffrey I wouldnt call it a slope im on... its more of a cliff! Luckly the money spent on the car was not mine! I have done alot tho to it ( bigger wheels, kevlar leather SPG, narrow wishbone, and soon efi) but i mainly buy good condition second hand and sell on what i have left over, also i do the work myself to keep the costs down a bit and fun factor high (most of the time anyway)

If are looking for a track setup, you'll want someting like what Jeffrey has (my custom Bilstein setup is al ittle stiffer with 700#/900# springs). If this is a street car, I would go with significantly lower spring rates. So, it all depends on where you drive it and how much. Btw, the magic in making a car handle correctly is getting the shock valving matched to the spring rates & understanding the intended use.

Personally, I would go with the JIC kit. A friend of mine has this setup (DrJupeman here on Rennlist), and it is very nice.

Just to reinforce what Colin said - the key is to get everything to work together. I confess, I relied on someone that knows much more than me. On the track the car is very balanced and predictable and I chose these components with the track in mind. Having said that, on the street I don't find the stiff suspension to that harsh, but I think everyone has their own idea of what is tolerable.

I suppose there is always something better, but could you and I extract the additional benefits? It's like adding more horsepower - I won't do that until I feel absolutely proficient at using what I have.

I have got a H&R cup kit with uniballs. Don't know how hard it is in term of numbers, it was tailor made (spring / dampers) to fit the weight and weight repartition on my car. Wouldn't rec it to people who drive on the street, as soon as the road is slightly bumpy you just bounce around. On track it's great. Made me gain between 1 and almost 3 sec per lap depending on the track compared to thes used up stock dampers with H&R lowering springs I had before. But it's not an adjustable kit so there is better gear out there....
