I see the the gaskets can be renewed whilst engine is still in the car, how difficult is this to do, my transmission has oil on it,, could not work out where the oil, was coming from, could it possibly be engine oil seeping from the breather cover, thermostat and oil pressure sender

Could be. See if you can find a wetter spot and dab it with a white paper towel. If it seems to have red in it - likely gear oil not engine oil.
Yes it can be done in situ. It's a pain, literally - but yes for sure doable. Lift or Quickjacks sure would be nice.

TOD = Triangle of Death
This consists of:
Not sure why there is so much discussion around this how to. However the one constant is that Its a pain in the *** whatever method one decides to use.
Again for me - Remove IC, airbox, disconnect breather hoses from breather cover, unbolt the a/c compressor from the mount, and the lines from any mounting or bracketry holding them.
This will allow you to manipulate the lines w/compressor attached, to get in there to and get to the area you need to. I can't remember, but I'm sure there will be at least a couple of other small bracket or hoses to move.
Hopefully this gets you there. If not, the next step is to lower the motor which will require you to disconnect a number of connections on the other side of the engine. You don't have to take the engine out to do this job.
Good Luck!
This consists of:
- Thermostat O-ring - Clean the unit, coat the new ring with Curil-T
- Oil pressure sender - I like to teflon paste or tape the thread on install. Although, its typically the plastic head that generally leaks where mated to metal crown
- Breather cover Gasket - I like to coat both sides of the gasket with case sealant. Many say use oil, others say install dry. This is what works for me.
- And what many miss - the braided cloth breather hoses as shown at the top of the breather, as well as the others going to the oil tank etc.. They are typically dry stiff and seep. Bend them and they will juice. The solid/non braided will show cracks

Well that's good you figured that out. Is your car running/on the road right now? Looks like you have had a leak(s) for some time. Ideally you can give engine and transmission a good degrease - then go for some drives and see where fresh oil/gear lube etc comes from.

I did clean the underside but could only see the oil coming from the rear of the engine, from around the crank area, somewhere below the alternator fan will not now until I lower the engine,

Anyone please have the part numbers at hand for the gaskets I need, not sure exactly what I am looking for
I am also changing the crank and intermediate shaft seal, is it best to use genuine Porsche seals or is Elring just as good,
