hey folks.
i have to replace the factory outer tie rods at $150-180/pr
i have an RoW car.
Is the Elephant racing Bump Steer Correcting Tie Rod Kit worth the extra $440 for the average driver like me ? Does anyone have experience with it ? I guess one advantage is it also replaces the stock inner tie rods (as far as I can tell) which are $480/pr. I’m not sure of the condition of the inner tie rods but maybe this is another ‘while you are there …’ moments.

their description says:“Lowered cars with non-RS wheel carriers suffer from bump steer and will benefit from bump geometry correction.
Bump steer is a change in toe due to vertical movement of the wheel, such as when driving over a bump. The toe change causes the car to turn, and the driver needs to constantly correct for this to maintain a steady trajectory. This makes the car a handful to drive, especially over bumpy road surfaces.
Bump correction is achieved by moving the tie rod end pivot about 10mm closer to the steering knuckle as compared to the stock tie rod end. This changes the angle of the tie rod to produce the bump geometry correction.”
im assuming my RoW car would qualify as a lowered car since is lower than a US spec car ?

I went with the FVD complete turbo tierod for the 965, they look similar to the 930 turbo tierods. They are priced reasonably. I love them

heliolps2, Tomorrow I'll be pulling my 22 year old new tie rods off this car I installed in 2000. They still have the stickers with 600 miles since i sold the car. I'm concerned they could be shot like everything else. How do you know if they still feel tight?

I'm running Turbo S/RS height (both are the same) + 5 mm and I really don't detect any bump steer issues.
That yellow RSR that Helio posted would need some bump steer correction. Then again, it's a track car.

I just measured the bumpsteer with this kit.
from my ride hight it goes 2mm toe-out at 40mm compression
and 2mm toe-in at 40mm drop
anyone knows the measurements with original?

I was planning on using the Elephant bump steer kit as well.
Have you been able to drive with them installed yet?
