Default Elephant Racing Introduces Bump Steer Reduction Tie Rods

This looks interesting, even if it's pricey ($590 + shipping) in the Elephant Racing tradition:

indeed interesting. even at $600 if it makes that much of a difference, I'd probably be willing to sacrifice my original equipment for a better {lowered} ride

I'm beginning to plan a suspension refresh and now I'm debating between those tie rods and the billet uprights Elephant now produces. Decisions, decisions....

Wow much cheaper and easier if it attains the same level of compliance that the RS uprights and RS tie rods achieve ...

Looks like a no brainier on my turbo which I already intended on replacing the uprights with at minimum the alum 993 pieces ..

Done the uprights on two cars and it's a considerable effort and not certain you could return it to even approx stock height without complete

reversal ..

Unless someone is even more OCD than Steve about originality (and from the pictures of Steve's car, it isn't at the U.S. stock "suv" ride height), I can't imagine why anyone would want to go back to that.
I've kicked around going to 993 uprights myself but I probably won't do it when I perform my suspension refresh next year.

that was back when I was entering into Preservation class. I'm done with that now, and onto Preparation.

so yea, per my post # 2 above, I would love to get rid of that bump steer feeling when pushing it hard @ high speeds on crappy roads

We've swapped places then. This year I've been degreasing wheelwells, powdercoating and plating brackets and making sure I replace fasteners with factory items

Hey Paul,... how did you end up (go, no-go?) with this Elephant bump steer kit?

Did you install it? ... Have you driven it to compare??

.... I'm still very interested in your evaluation

No haven't really done anything to my suspension and won't for another year.
I was looking at the chart Elephant has on their web site that purports to show the improvement with those end. I have to call them as it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I'm not 100% - but from what I understand Charlie takes your OE 7200 turbo and replaces internals - I _think_ both impeller and compressor wheels with CNC parts (although maybe just the impeller side?) - so a lighter assembly - plus I'm guessing modernized fin shapes? so that it spools a few hundred rpm faster and makes more power (10%?) across the range. All without having to deal with a domino effect of other changes because it is still your stock turbo housing. Turbokraft speaks highly of it - as does RarlyL8. Charlie says at sea level boost by 2400 - full boost by 3100. Not sure what stock would be as I have to deal with more lag here at 5200+ ft (often more). Evergreen charges $1175. There's thread on Pelican that also talks about it. I mostly like that it's a reasonable price for some power that doesn't involve swapping out other parts etc. I am curious, however, if the WUR would need to be tweaked - me thinks decent chance no.

EDIT - here's the thread - couple years old but some good info in it

Did anyone pull the trigger on the bump steer kit from Elephant ? Would it make a difference to the average driver ?

it also looks like they supply the inner tie rods so in the end it looks a bit cheaper than new OE parts

i have an RoW car which is lower by default.

thanks!
