Car is almost finished!!
Yippe! I went by the shop today and checked out the progress. The tranny looks nice and clean (bead blasted the case) to bad you can't see it from the outside. The cylinder heads look awesome! They put a 5 angle valve job on em and match ported the intake and exhaust ports. They also cleaned up the case. I had the fan housing polished and the fan repainted in a magnesium color. The sheet metal was repainted gloss black. The "s" cam lobes are just a tad bigger than stock. Hopefully, the car will be back on the road next week. I am going thru major withdraw with out my baby. I can't stand looking at my empty garage. I have been without my two toys (M3 turbo (engine rebuild)) for almost a month and it kills me to see everyone driving their toys on the weekend. My wife is loving it! She has me doing every project that I have meant to do over the past year to the house. I need my turbo fix ASAP! Sorry for the rant. I am sure you guys understand. Cheers!

What happened to both cars? You have that gorgeous black car with the fog light/ducts right? The car that made me want to drive mine into a river... Right?
What did you do to my baby?
Did you just feel like rebuilding both?
Fill me in?

Greg,
Please! I would trade mine with yours any day!!!
As far as the rebuild goes, I noticed that if the car sat for over 5 hours it would huff oil(smoke) when being warmed up (it got worse over time). So I decided to have the engine torn down to make sure that there was not a burnt valve from bad guides or even worse the rings were spent. Well it turned out the exhaust valve guides were a mess (lots of play). But the rest of the motor looked great (cylinders, rings etc.). So it turned into a "while you are in there" project. Hence the "s" cams/intercooler/head work etc.
My other car got into the same "while you are in there" ordeal as the pcar (blown head gasket from lots of miles on lots of boost). The car would've been done a month ago but the head gasket was late from germany and got hung up in customs. So, I should have both back soon!! I'll keep ya posted.

For my part I am just having a few things done to make the 3,3 a better track car almost nothing to the engine.
The interior has been stripped, sound deadening material scrapped, half roll cage, RS door panels, race seats and steering wheel, air bags and radio are gone, the air cond as well (both compressor and pipes) , I have a car graphic race cat installed (still have to pass emission test every year) as well as a new muffler (original) since the car was at just at the noise level limit on some tracks. Then I have them install brake ducts and refurbish the rotors that I cooked last season. Finally I will have the Porsche original 0,85 boost spring installed.
Nothing that should take all winter but since the road are so bad here (it snowed agin this night) no reason to hurry. Anyway the car is better off at the shop than in my dusty garage but I am really missing her now

Thanks for the interest. The car (and even more so the driver) will still be far from race ready this year. May be next year...
I am ashamed to say I have never checked how to post pics on Rennlist !
But look here http://www.rejsa.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7605 It's a Swedish site with some of the pics.

Sounds good! Do you have an AA turbo kit on the M3? I hear that it's real tough getting the special head gasket for the S52 motors...
We expect picks of both cars upon return! Enjoy the spring, and happy motoring!

c4tt,
I have a VATN T4 turbo on the m3. It was a custom job that my tech & I did 4 years ago before AA was really popular. A good friend of mine has the AA setup and I must say it is a really nice kit and is a lot more driver friendly than mine. my turbo is at full boost (12psi) at 2500 rpms which makes it very interesting exsiting a tight corner (instant oversteer). I should have both cars back in a week or so. Pictures to follow...
Vince your car looks awesome! Who is doing your rollcage?

Roll cage is custom made. It's a half roll cage in fact, I didn't have the heart to let them bore through the dashboard just yet but it's easy to extend it to a full cage if I change my mind.
Everything is done in Sweden at a place called K3
