Default Road Trip pics

So i’ve been putting a lot of miles on the car lately. As much as I like the looks of these cars, getting them out on the open road is where it’s really at. Especially when you can do it with like-minded friends.

This first batch of pics is from our road trip to Rennsport sport last September. We did 1600 miles from Denver to Monterey over three full days on scenic byway roads. Porsche roads. We enjoyed the journey - We stopped to check out the scenery, We stopped to stretch, we stopped for photo ops. Heck we even stopped to turn around and re-drive some fun sections.

Washed up ready to go

Early on Day 1 on Monarch Pass

End of day 1 gassing up

The sound of our engines reverberating off the walls. Awesome.

One of our favorite stops - and pics
Hopefully this will come out OK as I’m trying to post them from my phone

Just did 3 day drive on a quest for In n Out. Closest one to Denver is in Provo, UT. Again - scenic byways. Taking the long road there. Got a bigger crew this time and we hit some of the same roads as last fall going to Monterey, but opposite direction this time.
1580 miles.

Quick wash before leaving

A few weeks ago Jacob and I drove to lunch. In Salida. Once we got there it turned out the taco joint had closed down! Oh well it was a fun drive. 380 miles. Great roads.

I hate being in NJ. Our roads look more like that pothole in your garage..lol.

Thanks for pics

^Bad Boy, NJ is beautiful compared to many parts of the US. In CO we sell pot to fill pot holes.

Nice photos, thank you for sharing. I like that Green 930, nice and low, and appears to be straight exhaust?! Is it an '86 or '87? I have an '87 with an old Danske (sp?) on mine and it throughs foot long flames!

It’s a ‘79 930 with K27, Kokeln IC and RarlyL8 headers and exhaust. Runs great. He’s working on cosmetics and interior now.

Here are a couple pics from a short drive - 120 miles or so - Jacob and I did a few weeks ago. From Denver through Deer Creek then Buffalo Creek to Woodland and back.

Here are a couple pics from a couple weeks ago - Nick and I did a dinner drive up Golden Gate canyon to Peak to Peak Highway to Nederland for some good Indian food. Shot these right after dinner as the sun was going down.

Woke up early on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and wanted to get some miles in. Wound my way down to Canyon City and looped back. 320 miles. Great roads.

Those are great pics! Wished I lived up there but we do go a lot for vacation. I would be all over the place like you and center myself in Buena Vista at K's Dairy Delite which my wife and I first visited decades ago on a road trip from Texas in my 77 BMW 320i. A long time ago.....

Thanks for posting!

Thanks! Yeah we’re lucky to have so many great roads. You gotta put in effort to get to them. And you gotta pay attention to timing - lots of people in CO now so....traffic. A great little diner a few hours away is the perfect excuse for a drive. Will have to check out the one in Buena Vista soon.
