Default Speedline rims. What does they worth and shall I keep them?

Hi everyone,

To make short a long story...

Few years ago I bought a 964 Turbo 3.3 with the polished speedline

I sold this car few months ago but I kept the Speedline in the process
Then I installed the Speedline on my new 964 Turbo

Now I just traded my Turbo for an RS America, but kept the rims again :-)
-> however they won't fit the RS America

What should I do with those rims?

* Keep them but because in few years I may have another 964 wide body?

* Sell them because they went up in value and it's not a good idea to drive on NY roads?
And if selling, what is a fair price? I think you can buy them from Porsche Classic for around $10K but I don't know if they have the 965 serial number on those 'new" rims

According to my (limited) research, There is a polished center version that was used on all the Turbo S cars and was an option on the stock 3.6 turbos.

Polished Wheels:
8J x 18 ET 52 Alloy Wheel Polished - 965 362 136 01 10J x 18 ET 61 Alloy Wheel Polished - 965 362 140 01 Turbo Script Hub Cap Polished - 965 361 032 01

The real issue on fit is the inner rim is 8" and if you had a 7" they would fit fine but would be 9" vs the Speedlines built for the narrow body rear would be 47 ET 9.5". So it is possible with a little work to make them fit the narrow body car. jdorociak@gmail.com Jim

Or just save them as they fit the American Roadster, 3.3 Turbo, 3.6 Turbo, and the 94 C4 wide body .

Hey Jim, thanks for the info.

My other concern is also that with bigger tires, the car will be less fun or agile to drive (I made this mistake on my M3 E30)

Otherwise someone is telling me that my set is are real speedline but not real "Speedline by Porsche". I do not have the etched "Speedline by Porsche" but I believe it's because the wheels were polished several time and it remove it
Sound like some BS here ?

If you have Porsche part numbers cast into the backside of each center - 4001 for the rear (last 4 digits are stamped by hand) polished rear center. 3601 is front polished center. If you find either of these numbers stamped just after a 965. part number you have real 3,6 Speedline for Porsche wheels. If the outer rims no longer have the "SPEEDLINE for PORSCHE" etchings or numbers down by the valve stem 52 8 or 61 10 it simply means the wheels were disassembled and polished and at that point they were sanded off. The other key items to look for are the stylized "SL" stamped into the heads of the 6 pt torx headed bolts. jdorociak@gmail.com Jim

Wow that was a change.

I am curious why these won't fit your RSA? I run same size as the turbo speedlines on my C2 which is identical to an RSA and there is no reason they shouldn't fit.

here is my C2 wearing Fikse FM 10's in 8 x 18 ET 52 and 10 x 18 ET 61 with 225/265 tires

If you want to sell I am local and might consider buying if price is right.

8 & 10 225/265 is stock size tires for the 3.6T. I run 285 on the rears of my turbo and 265's on the C2. I have run as much as 295's on the turbo rears and 235 up front.

I will be running 265's up front on my track car which is essentially a turbo however that is on 9 and 9.5" wide rims.

The 285's and 295's were both 30's. The 35's would be too tall IIRC a 25.9" rolling dia vs 24.8"

Helio, I'm on a 285/30 in the rear of my '91. It's a Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position. 10" rim width.

... I run them primarily because Bridgestone is what Porsche was shipping from the factory during Spring 1991, so it shows on my COA.

........ They also have a decent wear rating, and I get good life out of them. Although they are not the stickiest out there.

thanks,

I ran a spec Yokohama tire developed for my GT4 clubsport. It was for the Pikes Peak race. 265 front and 295 rear.
Im thinking it will work on my 1991 turbo on the RH wheels.... i have 3 sets left over.

I will be running same size but on 9.5 and 11 inch wheels. The narrow rear arms make it easier
