Default Fresh injectors

Hello Porsche friends

I am thinking about doing an injector replacement , I'm sure injectors are original to the engine with 44k miles on it now, I'm sue they can use replacing even though I haven't tested them, as part of maintenance plan . Pelican has Bosch OE injectors at $63 each seem to be a good deal. Maybe gain some lost horsepower.

My question is, Has anyone noticed and performance gains when the injectors were replaced with new ones. When I installed the engine last spring I installed new fuel pumps , Fuel accumulator, fuel filter, fuel tank screen and installed a new BL WUR, She runs great, but I can't help but think that old injectors could be holding it back from it's potential. Please advice

Why not just send them out to be cleaned and tested for far less $$.

Cleaning isn't 100% effective.
Also, the pintle springs weaken over time.
Having said that, I don't think injectors with 44k miles on them are ready to be replaced unless the fuel system was contaminated.

Hello gentleman
What mileage that you would consider replacing the injectors 60k or 100k ?

Thx

I'm about to replace mine at 35K miles, just due to them sitting still for so long, dieseling a bit, etc. These are the thread-in type with an aluminum seal washer - anyone know what torque they should be tightened to? Imagine, fairly light.

Make them snug but don't go crazy. You will pull the brass insert out of the injector block if you do. 8-12 N-m but you'll be doing it by hand.

Agreed but i always go for the cost effective approach first and if they test within spec I see no reason not to use them.
