Could the earlier service manual diagram be a revised hose routing scheme from the original assembly which is what the PET shows (last post diagram), and my car's hoses were never revised? When my motor was worked on by Frantz Blam, maybe he rearranged a couple of the hoses according to earlier cars by accident? Any help much appreciated. On the post #8 chart the hose to the ignition control comes straight off left side of FI housing, on the PET chart it comes from the throttle body - seems like that could cause a meaningful difference for the motor.

Confirmation that hoses on 3.3 and 3.6 are not the same - the hose to the ICU is 175mm in the 3.3 and 620mm in the 3.6:

Ahaaa thanks! That proves a lot of mine's setup is actually correct. Except the only thing I can't identify there is the "switch-over valve" this whole thing started with...clues?

I'm also dying to know what the switch over valve does at this point. Something to do with the air injection going on and off? Anyway, it should be connected to the 4-way splitter here, but it seems to be missing and the two hoses go elsewhere on this chart (doesn't look right).

If anyone can tell me where the 4 hoses coming off their 4-way splitter go, that would be most helpful. Or/also, where the two hoses go from the change-over valve (that are not the one to atmosphere).
