Default Distributor grease/oil?

What gets greased and or oiled here on a M64.50 3.6 turbo dizzy? Could not find in book or online. Does the drop of oil go under or on the felt cap? Or none? Grease on the rest?

Also there was no dust cap, is it a needless bit here? Thanks!

Also, noticed smog pump belt is shredded so that's clearly not turning. She passed smog so go figure. Does this do any harm, should I clip the belt out and leave it off or?

Since you have the plumbing you could replace it. It's kind of a pain to reach though.

Thread seems to jump to smog pump belt, but OP was Distr grease....

I searched many of the NA 964 threads and found several others who mention using Lithium grease in their {twin} distributors down in the bearings,.. but nothing that gives a full account of where to place the grease & whether the high-wear area up top can be greased without pulling the distributor completely.

Subscribed, as I am interested in the answers here as well. I have not ever done any grease maintenance on my Distr,.. and would like to ensure it's not spinning dry.

Seems like the Bosch super sticky distrib grease would be the ticket - I use it on the old car on the lobes and pivot points. Here we've got no lobes or any such sliding surfaces but we've got weights that rotate on shafts and slide on what looks like some plastic glides. There is residue of original grease between the weights and the plate underneath. I would be tempted to grease the pivots, the weights where they slide against each other, and between the weights and the plate under.

I'm with Steve on this, I've never greased this but interested to see if anyone else has.
