I attached the new AC condenser, with the refurbished/cleaned support/fan/resistor/ducting.
Since I am losing the large washer bottle and using the intensive washer bottle instead, I realised I have a wiring issue. The windshield washer stalk commands the pump that sits in the left front fender, NOT the pump that is on the right inner fender. I pored over the wiring diagram, and saw which wires I have to swap by the fuse box. But I could not find the wire that goes to the std washer pump. So I did the next logical thing: I routed a wire from the std pump connector back to the intensive pump connector. I could follow the wiring loom and zip tied the new wire to it so that it stays out of the way.

Great pics George and with so much detail, nice work. My understanding, and from what I have seen, is that you can switch out the standard large washer bottle for a smaller capacity bottle instead. Not sure where these are sourced though. I know that doesn't answer your question but thought it may save time in any rewiring of circuits. Can't move the intensive bottle over to the other side instead and bracket up somewhere?

LM, I could move the bottle and find another one/another spot, but the intensive washer bottle fits perfectly where it is, is on the right side, and I only had to pull one wire, so I guess it is the simplest solution, and will look factory with the carpet installed.
On another matter, I wanted to see again if I could install the Recaro A8 I have. I knew the backrest angle adjust **** was hitting the outside inner panel when I pushed the seat far back enough to fit (I have long legs). So I made up a trial alloy plate to replace the large Recaro ****. Fits perfectly and gives me about 1cm less width in that spot.
But alas, it is not enough. On the center tunnel side, the part onto which the backrest release hook latches rubs the carpet and presses hard enough that I worry it will tear it.
I guess the A8 will fit in a shell without sound deadening, or in a naked shell, even in a std shell if the driver weren't so long legged as I, but for my 6'2", A8 and 964 won't mate.
Not a drama since I have these sweet factory sport seats, full electric, with heat and lumbar adjust.

Now seriously, crap! WHY does the text get erased when the pictures are uploaded??
Anyway, milestone reached. I spent the last 7 months having a garage built in the field next to the house, and it is officially finished since last week. I have to install all my tools, but I installed the lift with help of a few good friends.
It changes life whan an oil change does not involve laying on the ground and shoehorning oil pans under the car. I also started loosening the undersill oil lines, that will get changed along with the front oil cooler and its fan.

Today's adventures:
Connected the new oil lines and the oil cooler, with its new fan and ducting. I hit a hurdle with the thermostat silentbloc. There is No Way it aligns with its support on the shell and on the thermostat itself. I loosened every line, tried to align everything, but no go. I ended up making an offset bracket. We'll see what happens with the side sills, and whether I'll need to revisit, but for now, it is like that. It can also be noted that the silentbloc was missing ever since I have the car (10 years now). It took me 2 hours to get the inner plate out, with a seized bolt.
I also removed the brake calipers and discs. Those are 993 items, but the restored original calipers go back on along with new discs.
Interestingly one of the front discs cracked around the threaded hole used to push the disc out. Weird and not reassuring. There was not even that much pressure on it to pull the disc.

That is a possibility. the oil cooler I replaced was dated 1990 (on an '89 car). I will look into it. I won't change it unless it prevents side sill fit, however.

This happened to me also, I replaced the rubber mount but it was quite a stretch to get it on. I've heard other people having the same trouble too.
