Clicking noise behind drivers dash pod

Clicking noise behind drivers dash pod
When I shut down the engine, a noise begins ticking behind my dash, seemingly somewhere behind the tachometer - light switches area. At the same time the front parking lights flash. This has nothing to do with the hazard lights. With key removed from ignition and the clicking noise occurring, the gong sounds when I open the doors. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

I would like to add that after a period of time, the clicking stops and the flashing of the parking lights does as well simultaneously. But as soon as door opens, the clicking, gonging and flashing begins again until engine started.

JohnK - Hi. Thanks for the reply. In regard to the spoiler. No spoiler involved here as I have an '86 928. I have to take the car to my mechanic to get the cruise control fixed anyway and so will tell him about this issue. If there is a fix, I will post it here. If you have any other thoughts about this, please touch base. Thanks, Rick

Should be under passenger seat yellow and black connectors , try and
Unplug battery wait a few minutes and reconnect see if it can reboot
alarm module..
Otherwise suggest removing module and getting a replacement unit..

Clicking noise under dash on driver's side
Okay Bert, I'll disconnect the battery today and attempt a re-boot. Sounds like a good idea.
This car has the regular stock alarm plus an aftermarket unit that I never use (controlled by fob that I leave at home.)
I was suspicious that it might be an alarm issue of some kind but didn't know about the reboot possibility nor where the controller was located.
Additional question (potentially dumb) - can I reach the controller without removing the seat? Rick

But in my particular case, (I'm driving a 1986 928) the spoiler is not mechanical. Sorry for the confusion between the models. The clicking in the dash behind the steering wheel area is occurring in my 1986 Porche 928. Thanks for responding. I'm near Ottawa. Go Habs. Rick

Hi Ricky,
Yea, sorry I was just thanking John for helping me with my issue.
I think you are correct to assume it is associated with the door lock & alarm components.
Good luck with the gremlins
