Is Peter B. helping with the mechanical work?

I would second getting work done at Einar's if you're anywhere near downtown.

Modern Aircooled is a great shop and their techs are fully competent. Austin did my full engine rebuild and it runs amazing. I've been driving it so much I'm already at my next scheduled Valve Adjustment hahah. Which the way I like to go for long drives and such might have to start doing it twice a year..

One thing I've learned as a 964 owner is that "work" never stops....the next project is just around the corner. I'm actually diagnosing tackling my non-working A/C issue now haha.

Thanks. My sister lives in London. Waiting for this COVID mess to sort itself out before pulling the trigger to get free shipping.

Thanks for well wishes. Been told UK gets bad because everyone has small fridges so you get long lines at supermarkets.

Do you mind sharing source for nuts and bolts? Same seller?

Yes same seller, I believe they call it "hardware" in their fancy English.

For the bumper brackets in the US you might check with Mike at Autobahn Dismantling 619-444-2290. No affiliation but I've bought parts from them that are great. They have parts from the Singer builds - about 200 964's.

Haha yep I have my daily driver but definitely not as fun. If I could only afford another Porsche I would be set.

Well you know as old saying goes...."Opinions are like.....****.....Everyone has them" and "Your mileage may vary...." As long as I've been in the car scene in Houston there are plenty shops that specialize in other car makes which get the same drama. I can't speak to why some people would say steer away. For obvious reasons I'm happy with the work so I recommend them. I have no issues with the other shops as we have several in Houston. Rennsport in Sealy, Einar's (in Seabrook at the time of my build) etc. etc. as I don't have experience.

I say go to the shops and interview the mechanics and make your decision from there. Good luck and hopefully once DE's are back again I may see you at the track!

Hahaha, that's a fantastic story I will tell the Brit wife. Yes the fridges are tiny but stopping off at 2 or 3 pubs on the way to the market is a more likely culprit.

Very strong 964 presence in and around London, some great guys and cars. Hard to get one's head around seeing them parked on the street covered in leaves and bird scheisse.
