Just did corner weight setup on the ohlins.
i am at FL 653 FR 647 RR 937 RL 947 for a total of 3174 lbs or 1442kgs.

that includes:

190lbs/ 86kgs driver

recaros
half cage
fiberglass tail no spoiler
no heat
aftermarket billy boat exhaust with cats
aftermarket steering wheel
18” BBS RE wheels
Half tank of gas

i think 2984lbs or 1356kgs is A LOT for a C2 Manual without driver.

wondering where is she fat? I am thinking the exhaust is the heavy part.

I was about 150lbs lighter with my half cage (since removed to get even lighter). I have heat and AC. From your posts, I think some differences are:
  • 6lb battery
  • RS door cards with no speakers
  • Stock exhaust except for race cat and j-pipe. Used to have billy boat headers and dual exhaust. I think the weights may be close.
  • Those RE wheels look pretty heavy if I’m finding accurate weights. Mine are about 8-9lbs lighter per wheel

Thanks, do you remember how much weight did you shed with the RS door cards? 150 pounds is a long way to go! The wheels are actually pretty light for being 18. Less than 20lb each

A previous owner did them, but it’s about 14lbs for switching both door cards and losing the speakers.

Considering your wheels are light, I not sure where the rest of the difference is. Though when I had my cage, harnesses, stock battery, and similar wheels, my car was also in the 2900s. The battery was a big part of it. Also took everything else out of the frunk except the spare (tools, carpet, etc). Deleted the heater blower. LWFW. Have to recall what else I did. I know I’m forgetting something.

Interesting, I am not sure I want to lose the stereo yet.

Will start to look where can I shed some weight, I was definitely surprised. I did learn that every liter of gas weights 1.75lbs and I had half a tank so maybe 70ish lbs just there?

Someone once told me the best way to save weight was in the drivers seat!

I was able to use the Bergville FX yesterday, neat tool to clear codes.

the odd thing about the 964 that doesn’t happen with the TT or GT3 is that I cannot stop driving it. Maybe because I have not driven it in a while but I look for an excuse every day to take it out for a drive.

I wish I went heavier on the Ohlins springs and the stock ones feel almost too plush. Great suspension though, the car is composed and comunicative like it has never been before. With an LSD at 40% I need it

I agree, I constantly find excuses to drive the car to the grocery store or quick sprint around an empty business park after hours.

Look forward to hearing more about the Ohlins coilovers as I don't know too many 964 owners who have chosen this route.

ohlins is the only brand I go with for serious suspension. If it’s just to play around, Koni is my go to.

they are on a different category. I bought them with camber plates and top hats, installed and you can feel every inch of travel.

The way they communicate the car behavior has no equals. They can be adjusted in compression, rebound, the height via screwing the bottom mount or working in the spring seat. Million possible ways of adjusting them.

on the road i found them more comfortable than the KW V3 i tried in the past, excessively jarring and “dry”.
