My question is this a possible conversion? And Does anyone have the parts I need, maybe you converted your targa to a cabriolet. Maybe I'll put on my flame suit for safety

While I have not seen this done - I have seen a targa converted to accept a fiberglas hard top. This removes everything that you are looking for to allow a hard top to be attached.
Now all you have to do is hope the right person reads your post
Yes, it is possible; Most important is the right place to weld the Targa construction back on...
Porsche made a instruction for Targa to Cabriolet conversion so this instruction maybe also can help for the other way around ;-)
Thanks Guys for the responses, To be clear I have a 964 CAB and want to make it a TARGA, thats why I put on my flame suit. I know that Targa's have been converted to Cabs so those are the parts I need. Will There be welding involved to attach the roll / targa bar.
I have seen a post of a 993 Cab converted to the 964 style targa and it got me thinking. If I have trouble finding the targa-top I would be fine with a carbon fiber aftermarket top.
I really want a 964 Targa someday and I have considered this route. Lots of searching on forums didn't lead to any DIY's, only a few for the opposite path. If you find any info, please share it. Good luck!
Welding the Targa bar on will be require. You will need too and rear window to make sure bar is correctly positioned. They can be used to hold bar in place as weld. Lots of other pieces and parts to obtain.
Gus, thanks thats what I thought. I have found a targa bar and window, I have a older bar cover, so I think
i need the interior trim, seals and then the top, Maybe have to go with a Saratoga? but would prefer a original 964 folding top. and the trim pieces around the rear window. I guess I ill need to rewire the brake light and delete the light on the tail.
Please keep the suggestions coming, Hoping to find the guy that converted his Targa to a CAB.
You will have an issue with the main wndow seal as they are NLA, if you can find a used one grab it!
Targa hoop covers come with or without gills, mine is stainless but I have read they can be ally, not sure that is correct. Overall an expensive proposition, hoop seal, window seal , targa top, trim, etc good luck.
Hi..did you make any progress on this? I'm thinking of importing a 1977 Cab that was a Targa. I'm told that the Targa glass and Targa roll bar are available but its missing the foldable removable roof. I would like to consider doing the same and putting it back to a Targa MAYBE one day
Try PM'ing carsinc (Rennlist user name). Dan knows a lot about targa tops and parts generally. He may be able to give direction, especially regarding the soft parts/seals/etc.
