964 Door Pocket Reinforcements
Next ship date will be Friday July 28th.
If you are interested in a set of 964 door pocket reinforcements:

Are there any tricks to removing the door pocket?
I removed all 6 screws (1 inside the pocket, 1 near the end of the door, 3 on the bottom and 1 near the front of the door)
but the pocket is still hung up at the door handle area?

There should be 7 screws total: 5 around the perimeter of the pocket and 2 under the lid, 1 at the lid hinge and one by the door handle (the area which breaks).

But the one at the lid hinge doesn't attach to the door pocket right?

Mine is hung up just below the door handle & latch area.
may be the speaker crossover unit??

Correct, the screw at the lid hinge does not need to be removed to remove the door pocket itself.
And no need to remove the door handle or latch either.
Post #2 of this thread has links to door pocket removal (and now includes the 964 specific link that LPMM provided above).
If these don't help perhaps you need to apply a small amount of force to pull the pocket from the door panel or perhaps there is a modification performed by the previous owner?
At the rear and the front of the door pocket, each of these areas can be pulled away from the door? All the way across the bottom as well?
Sorry I can't be more help, not sure what is keeping your pocket from separating from the door.
Maybe a picture indicating exactly where the hangup is would help.

EDIT: On the 993, there is a nub on the door handle that extends slightly into a hole in the door pocket. Probably the same on the 964. If you pull the door pocket downward, I bet you will be able to release it.
The first picture in the 993 door pocket attachment thread shows the location of the hole/notch in the door pocket that the nub on the door handle extends into. Right edge of the picture. There is a little bit of vinyl covering the hole.
