info about 1994 964 carrera 4 turbo look
Hey, new to this forum and hoping the aficionados here could offer up some help. I've located a 1994 964 carrera 4 turbo look with 29K and I can't find much info on it. Is this a rare car and/or how rare. One more thing. How much would it be worth. Thanks a lot guys.

The 1994 C4's were built by Porsche to try to inspire some additional sales in the last year of the 964 and to use up leftover 964 Turbo bodyshells, before the switchover to the 993. I don't know the exact production figures, but they're pretty rare - I believe less than 500 to the US. Like other factory widebody cars, they command a premium. With 29k miles, I would expect it to sell for $35-40k.

Dear JC,
Firstly you have to check the VIN. Approx 256 of these special C4s were imported into the USA.
In my book which will be available in less than a month there is quite a bit of data on this C4 TL.
Beware of fakes as well. There are a few aftermarket kitted narrowbodies being claimed as factory TLs. Often the words of the actual advert helps.
"Factory look widebody" something like this. Unfortunately many of these C4 TLs have been further modified so it makes identification difficult. The original delivery papers are essential.
An example.
The C4 TL was delivered with standard C4 brake callipers and solid vented discs (brake rotors). Most of them you see now have red callipers and drilled discs.
Ciao,
Adrian

The vin seems to check out from what I can tell. but it does now have a custom front bumper, rear wing, and the red brake calipers you speak of. It is a very nice car but I'm not gonna invest in a car that isn't very clean. here is the vin in case I'm wrong. WP0AB2964RS420380. I thought the 14th letter was the body code (#2) and the factory turbo look. Anyways, appreciate the help so far. Oh and looking forward to your book Adrian.

Nope 2 means it is a USA Coupe in model year 1994. Actually to be 100% correct AB is the model and engine code. A = coupe with B = normally aspirated engine. There is no VIN code for a widebody. That is option M491.

Dear JC,
I have one of those! Its a great car - actually better than the "Celebration" in my opinion as its basically a turbo car without the turbo. Had mine for almost 3 years now and its done only 18,000 miles (9000 of those during my ownership).
You don't see many about so I'd be interested to know if you buy it and for how much. Let me know if you need any more specific info.
Good luck

Guys,
Marks 964 C4 TL features in my book so I can vouch for the fact that he knows what he is talking about. It is a very nice machine as well.

Thanks for the interest Dove - I'll try to upload some pics now.
Yes Alex I wrote a running report for 911 PW some time ago now. About time I did another except so far there's not a whole lot to report.
Adrian, thanks for the kind comments - your book is still top of Santas list. Looking forward to that one.
Anyway here's 1 pic
