Default Battery fitment code

Hi,

Looks like my battery has decided to call it a day

Does anyone know any fitment codes for the correct battery for a '91C4? e.g. a Bosch one or something? None of the useless shops around here have listings for Porsches and I don't fancy being robbed by the main dealer...

Cheers,
Dave.

I have a Bosch 'Silvertop' battery which fits perfectly. Problem is, I don't know the fitment guide offhand. Maybe you can check with Bosch directly?

Dear Dave,
You need to max sure you get one with 72-74 amp/hr capacity. Nothing less. There is no real fitment guide as long as you get the capacity correct. Cabs need 88 amp/hr,

but i might be taking it back now adrian has pointed out that its the wrong one for a cab !!!!!

i looked at bigger bosch amp ones but they where massive , not sure they'd fit . whereas the 74 fits perfect

Dear Ian,
The roof will kill off a smaller capacity battery. Porsche recommend the 88 amp/hr simply because of the roof.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the input. I bought a new 74A/h battery last night and the car seems much happier. Even the PDAS pressure warning beeping thing has gone when I start it Just have to hope now that there wasn't a problem with the charging circuit...

Cheers,
Dave.

Adrian,

I thought I had the biggest A/hr I could find to fit, a Banner 80A/hr. Where could I get the bigger flavour? everyone else is physically too large to fit.

I think the fitment code, for bosch anyway is an 096, but that may apply to others a well.

Ian,
My BANNER battery is good, Austrian build, they do OEM stuff for Audi amongst others. 4 post top so orientation is easy, 80A/hr. Calcium filled, sealed for life, and I mean sealed, it is welded shut....4 year warranty and all for £58. I'm only using the porker about once a week, and have not had an issue starting yet.....(oh dear that's probably done it)

Kevin.

I am afraid I cannot tell you what batteries you have available. Obviously Bosch make one because Porsche fitted it. I know Saentis herein Switzerland have one as well. Used to anyway. I would advise you check with Bosch.
