Carbon RS seats for 964RS, 993RS and Speedster
Just a quick note to draw everyone's attention to a discussion thread running on the 993 forum regarding the proposed manufacture of a 9mRS carbon seat.
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...speedster.html
I can already say that from the feedback already received we are likely to pull the trigger and go into manufacture soon.

Sizing???
Colin, I am 6' 1" tall, but with 34" inseam 38 "waist pants. I weigh 230 lb.s or 16.4 stones. My 964 Porsche sits me well, but I would like to upgrade my seats from the standard seats that I have now. Will your seats be able to be directly bolted to the floor mounts? I never adjust me seats... and well I really don't care if anyone else wants to drive it. I have saved all previous OEM and would my current seats and mounts as well in my shop. Thanks Colin for your sage advice as always... Jack

Hey Jack, thanks for the question.
All I can say is that I am 6' 0" with 33" inside leg and at one point during my time with the RS have hit 225lb. At no time did I feel that I needed a larger seat. One of my customers is around 6'3" and 250lb, he uses SPG extra large in his 964 based race car and I find them a little too large. Does that help?
The 9m seats will be a direct, bolt-in fit for the 964 and 993, just like the factory RS seat.

Thanks for everyone's interest in the 9mRS seat. After a VERY busy few weeks I'm pleased to say that I have cleared a lot of my backlog and will be focussing on our parts program again over the next few days. Provided all goes to plan (!) I expect to have the first batch of pre-production (non-FIA) seats available sometime mid-August with 2nd batch production versions done a month later. There will be an exclusive Rennlist group buy deal offered so please keep watching for another update.

First 9mRS seat, straight out of the tool. How great does that look??
Weight is 4.5kg, without trim of course.

The prototype billet CNC machined alloy side mounts are now in production. These mounts will be stronger and lighter than the original Porsche RS parts, specifically designed to meet the new FIA testing standards.

Mel,
At some stage after the production is rolling we will be able to custom trim the seats. Provided the original Porsche leather is available, I see no reason why that cannot include Classic Grey.
One thing I should mention is that only the cloth versions of the seat will be FIA approved since leather is not considered a fire proof material. Hence if you want the FIA approval sticker we will supply the basic cloth version and you have them recovered.
