Default New 964 owner

Soooo...
here we are.
After a long test drive of 15min I am a new proud owner of a 964 C4 convertible. My Porsche history is pretty short. I had a 997S MKI (with the fun X51 powerkit) but coupe. And coupe was not for me.
So I sold it for a Morgan Aero Supersports that I still own and that I really love, but I wanted to come back to Porscheworld and, at the same time, start coming closer to the oldtimer world.

To make a long story short.. here SHE is
July 1991, 160.000km, lot of invoices and services done and ready to make my grin.
I still have to browse properly the 964 section but for sure I'll have to concentrate on:
  • Dashboard replacement (since I have, surprise, a crack) --> I found a couple of good thread with pics and so on and it seems to be a pretty straightforward job. If I have questions, I will post them in the right discussions
  • User manual PDF in IT and/or EN --> this one is surprising me. Even with the help of my google friend, looks like it's one of the most hidden secrets in Porsche. Does anybody has an hint for me on how to find it? On ebay etc it's sold as if it's made out of gold. I still have to check with my dealer, but since I need to wait too many days to get the car, I wanted to start reading something.

A few pics taken during the test drive are below
I will have to wait for two/three weeks more to have it in my garage since it has to go through the swiss inspection first and I need to find some time to travel there to pick it up

Very nice car! Sportseats, good.
Since you have the choice, get the long license plate for the rear. Fits so much better.

Let the driver side of the seat obviously is a little bit worn outbut I will find a solution for that.
I am still waiting to see if my friends give me the list of factory options based on the VIN number...
Yes, yes, the rectangular one will be the to-be solution, moreover since here in CH you can use the same plate on two different cars reducing a little bit the insurance cost, and the morgan has space only for the rectangular plate.

The thing that impressed me is that this car with, again 160k km, is in a better shape than a lot of other cars showing only 100k on the odometer.

I have seen that it already has the distributor vent kit installed. So one thing less to be checked.

Congrats, looks clean. Seems a lot of the water pumper crew are turning back to aircooled cars these days.

You can shortcut this process by looking at the options sticker which is on the underside of the front hood or on the first page of the service book then you can look up the options yourself. Sticker looks like this:

Options for that car are 139, 340 etc etc

139 = Seat heating, left
340 = Seat heating, right

You can either just google them or use a list like this:

Thanks! Those are the workshop manuals and I already made a copy for my records.
And it's funny that those can be found but not the "normal/simple" user manual.

Good point!
Why was I so lazy?

383 - Sport seat, left
387 - Sport seat, right
573 - Air-conditioner

Sorry I should have read your post more carefully. This page has a link to the 993 owners manual which has a lot in common with the 964 to get you started, lots of other links to other docs on that page too:

Funny thing, if I am to believe the front license plate frame, this car was in my neck of the woods.

Congrats! Looks to be in very fine shape,... and for that mileage clearly the prior owner kept it out of the harsh winter elements for many years. Nice find.

You'll LOVE that air-cooled sound!!
