After a long test drive of 15min I am a new proud owner of a 964 C4 convertible. My Porsche history is pretty short. I had a 997S MKI (with the fun X51 powerkit) but coupe. And coupe was not for me.
So I sold it for a Morgan Aero Supersports that I still own and that I really love, but I wanted to come back to Porscheworld and, at the same time, start coming closer to the oldtimer world.

To make a long story short.. here SHE is
July 1991, 160.000km, lot of invoices and services done and ready to make my grin.
I still have to browse properly the 964 section but for sure I'll have to concentrate on:
  • Dashboard replacement (since I have, surprise, a crack) --> I found a couple of good thread with pics and so on and it seems to be a pretty straightforward job. If I have questions, I will post them in the right discussions
  • User manual PDF in IT and/or EN --> this one is surprising me. Even with the help of my google friend, looks like it's one of the most hidden secrets in Porsche. Does anybody has an hint for me on how to find it? On ebay etc it's sold as if it's made out of gold. I still have to check with my dealer, but since I need to wait too many days to get the car, I wanted to start reading something.

A few pics taken during the test drive are below
I will have to wait for two/three weeks more to have it in my garage since it has to go through the swiss inspection first and I need to find some time to travel there to pick it up

Welcome Ale_72! Beautiful car!! Can't wait to see it in person soon.

And yes.. mine has many many more kms than yours! And again, it looks and feels better than many others with half the mileage.

Finally a couple of pics after the first wash.
Next steps:
Install the Becker traffic pro radio
Change center console lights
Find some cheap amber turn signals for the front
Replace the dashboard

Ah cannot complain about the interior as well (except for the upper dash that needs to be replaced since it was ruined and has been poorly repaired). Because of the sun, the only picture I took is miserable.

Going back to amber turn signals will look great. C4 Cabs are the best. Enjoy!

I hate you!
My plan was to keep it stock. For now. Ok, at least for a while. I need to convince myself.

That is one of the first things I want to do but I need to prioritise since my bank account thinks it's a good idea.

Well... it's now 1.5 months that I have it.
Brief summary of the small little changes that were required to have a car how I want it.

INTERIOR

Radio - First of all I removed the horrible Pioneer stereo coming from the new millenium and replaced it with a very nice Becker Traffic Pro, and connected properly including the speedo signal.
Next steps: get the Swiss+Italy maps for the navi, verison 10.

Dash - the dash is (was) bent, cracked and poorly repaired. I had two choices. Or to buy a new vynil one from Porsche or buy an used one and have it professionally covered in leather. I decided for the second option. Hopefully on 26.11.16 it will be ready so I can go, pick it up and mount it.

Cassette holder in the centre console - I just ordered today the tray to replace the cassette holder. I'd have kept the casset stuff, even if unused, if I had a tape stereo. But with the CD/Navi option, really makes no sense to leave it there.

EXTERIOR

Orange turn lenses - I wanted to have back orange lights. It took a while to find them in a good shape at the right price, but I made it.

Cup pipe - I have heard too many positive things to wait until 2017 to buy it. So ordered it today. When I go to change tires from summer to winter (I bought Continental TS 830P) I will get this mounted. Unfortunately I do not have space to do it by myself at home.

Professional detailing - even if in pics it looks nice, the car really needs a proper detailing. I had already my previous 997 detailed by the same guy who is working on the 964. It will not be a quick job, but I already know that the result will be amazing.
This is the result of the first polish pass, before the two additional layers of polishing/waxing. All products will be Swisswax.
I will post additional pics while he progress with the job.
