Default WTB: 1993 Porsche 964!!!

I am finally in the market for a Porsche 964!! Years 1992 and up are what I am looking for, preferably a 1993 or 1994. One other thing, I am in the market for C4 MANUAL COUPES only. I intend to baby it and drive it often.

Thanks, John

I looked at this one... I even PPI'ed it; too many expensive to repair issues for what they were asking. Easily several thousand dollars to correct all the issues the car had and perform deferred maintance. After insisting to me the car was worth more than the original asking price, they lowered the price a few days ago and when I inquired again about it another dealer had bought it from them intending to flip it again just today.

Good luck with your search. I'm on almost a 8 months and have walked away from several cars already. I was originally set on 92'-94' but I broadened my search to look for well cared for cars from 90' and 91' also.

If anyone has any well cared for C4 Manual Coupes 1992 and newer, I am willing to pay a very fair price. Especially if it is a 1993 car; depending on vehicle condition I might be willing to pay a little bit of a premium.

Just some personal reasons. I know that probably a less than satisfactory answer but that's all I've got at the moment.

You are aware there is a significant difference between the '94 C4 and all prior years, correct? And that difference is very much reflected in market values.

You do understand that you have limited yourself. There were so few 92-94 C2/C4's made to begin with all the 94's are widebody and considerably more $$. I figure you have a total of maybe 500 cars produced to choose from for US market for 92-93. How many are left is your guess.

May I ask why a C4 when everyone is looking for C2's

Of course! Narrow body vs turbo body. As a result there is quite a price gap. I have done quite a bit of research and am willing to pay for what is being offered (both car and condition-wise) at a fair price.

So it sounds like you are looking for a C4 WB.

This will be my daily driver. Also, I prefer it in any nasty weather. I understand I may be limiting myself. Also, in 93 they produced around 520 coupes and in 92 they produced quite more. Also, I may be willing to purchase a 91 but I still prefer 92 and up

Ok cool, just making sure. Typically, buyers in the WB market are very specific about wanting a WB, as opposed to just buying based on specific model years.

Also, I don't see a location for you - are you searching worldwide? Some buyers do (e.g. Rudy, who just imported a C2 from Japan).

Good luck with your search.

I am located in Florida. I am searching high and low but would obviously prefer something closer to home. I'll need all the luck I can get!

There was a nice white C4 coupe being offered for sale at Parkhaus1 in Miami a few weeks ago. Don't know if it's still available; no affiliation.

I had to look up the numbers but there were 1992 655 Coupes both C2/C4 manual and tip and in 1993 460 C2/C4 manual and tips. Nobody knows the actual ratio to how many C2's vs C4's and how many were manual and how many were tip. Don't forget that most sources like Adrian did not take into consideration that each MY vin # started a 0061 and not 0001. I would guess less than half of these 1115 coups were C4 manual cars. So around 500 for two years production. In 94 there were a total of 396 C2/C4's made. IIRC Norbert says there are 265 or so of the C4 widebody and roughly 131 C2's I know of a number of the 94 C2's that are long gone. It is slim pickings for the 92-94 cars. I have no doubt these will eventually be the coveted version to own.

There is a gorgeous Wimbledon green 94 C4 in this months pano under Trissl motors. I don't see it on their site but I can tell you I passed on this car just because I have too many about a year back from the original owner who offered it to me for $65k I knew it was worth a lot more but it went before I made a move. I have no doubt they are asking 6 figures. It is worth every penny it was that nice.
