Default Pic request: C4 front trunk + carpet

The PO hacked my carpet up and I'm trying to figure out whether the U shaped cutout is original or not.

Also, I appear to be missing the hydraulic pump cover as can be seen here:

Does the carpet attach to the plastic with the little button clips? Anyone have one for sale?

Also, how does the carpet attach to the front on the passenger (US) side?

Could be the slot has been cut to make routing room for additional battery cabling - i.e. like me battery conditioner coupling access etc.

Unfortunatley it was less practical than that. There were 2 amplifiers in the trunk from the PO. I imagine he thought the gigantic cutout was necessary to run the wiring to them.

I've taped it up for the time being. Will probably make an RS style carpet eventually.

In case anyone is wondering in the future, the part number for the pump cover is 964 355 101 50

Thanks for this info.

I've been trying to figure out what I am missing to attach that side to the frame.

Can I ask for a favour?
Could someone post a photo of how the carpet clips to the front in the frunk?
In my car, the RHS (or left hand side when standing at front facing the car) has 3 press studs.. the other side has... nothing.... and flops around.. I thought maybe some clips were missing but I cannot see where they would be secured? Or am I missing that plastic cover which would have had the studs attached to it?
mike

Edit - I think it might be better if I post a photo of what I have first...

There are in fact some plastic clips on the rhd side of the trunk front wall, that are very frequently missing They are visible on PET.

FYI the carpeting and front plastic pieces are completely different for the early and late model cars. It was either 91 or 92 they switched to velcro vs the snaps and they have a larger single plastic piece that slides into two groves in the front to cover everything from view.

IMO the snaps were better and they changed it again with the 993.

onceover - It is strange that your carpet does not have the 3 snaps on the front RH side.

Mine has 6 across the front, 3 on each side (of the latch). And the car itself has 6 snaps receivers to match.

I have a 1991T.

I also have,... underneath the carpet itself AND attached (glued) to the carpet underside,.. two pieces of dark gray foam (in the shape of Isosceles Trapezoid). I'm missing one of those in case anyone has an extra.

Steve,

The snaps would be on the two parts on either side. You can see one at 2 o'clock in the picture and the others would be obscured in the photo.

There are a bunch of different carpets made depending on year and if the car had a strut brace or not.

The strut brace carpet is a rare item and quite pricey.

I believe Porsche changed over to velcro in 92 because the snaps would pull out of the carpeting but the velcro didn't work well either.

no, I'm talking about the missing snaps here....

You've seen my car in person,... it clearly has 6 snap receivers (3 on each side of the latch) built into the frunk to accept snaps in these locations. And the carpet has 6 snaps (3 on each side) to snap onto those receivers.

I'll take pictures of the frunk area that receives these snaps & post here.

I don't believe the 90 targa I just worked on had them on that side. But it was a C2 without the electro hydraulic booster.

Interesting. Then you are right, they were changing things like the wind back in the '90 - '95 timeframe.

So for the benefit to others, and specifically the OP onceover, here are some pictures of this area on my 1991 964 3.3l Turbo Coupe...

(.... & then below that, is a pic of my missing foam trapezoid...)

PET for a '94... (for the pic above, showing parts # 7, 8, & 9)

The OP onceover has this in his signature "964 Porsche Carrera C4 - Gaurds Red", but does not say what year his is. Once he does, maybe someone can post pics of similar year & model...

So,...
Anyone have a gray foam trapezoid like this? My carpet has the bottom one (aft when carpet is laid down, but is missing the upper one in the pic). They were glued under the carpet. I cannot find any #'s or indicators in PET.

Looking at the picture, I realize that in my C4 1990, the right plastic nut from the picture is missing, only the left is in place, and it is more a plastic splint (btw, are those part numbers 999 049 012 40 and 999 703 183 40 with 999 049 008 40). – There seems to be a third connection option with a hole in the lower right part; is this one used for anything?

Good news is that I have all 6 clips for the carpet.

Apparently, I also only have the cover (part no. 964 355 101 50), nothing else:

Isn't there something supposed to be in the middle, e.g., 964 611 212 00, or alike? And the right side does no have any covers?

Thanks and best regards,
Michael
