Roof bars - do they damage or mark the gutters ?
I know a few of you have fitted roof bars etc to your 964's. Just after a definate answer of wether they mark or damage the paint ?
Thinking of some thule roof bars to allow me to carry my bike. If they are going to damge the piant I'll look at alternatives

I've got a Thule rack I'd love to sell. It's got the correct unequal height feet front to rear so the rack sits flat, and two bike mounts with separate front wheel carriers.
As to the use, I used to used it a lot. Never had and issue or a scratch. It's carried bikes , Christmas trees and plywood, all with no issue.

thanks all .. great to hear
Andy, it was your use of the rack that gave me confidence it would be OK, but just wanted confirmation from others to 100% make sure
What bar lengths did you use ?
Goughary .. shame you're not in the UK .

I've mounted a Yakima to mine and it doesn't seem as secure as other rain-gutter cars I've mounted Thule towers to.
I like the Yakima for the 911 due to the sloping roofline. Yakima sells tower extensions and with the round bars you can mount the bike trays in a more solid fashion.
That said the Yakima bolted right down, also with rubberized feet and have no issues.
Maybe have a clear-bra place put down some material where you want to mount the towers?
