Default 993 RS camber plates in 964

Hi guys,
i just got a set (front & rear) of 993 RS camber plates.
My 964 has RS-Springs, in the rear RS-shocks and Bilstein cup-shocks in the front.
I think the rear 993 camber plate will fit straight forward?!

Whats about the front? I don`t need an extensive adjustment range there, i get my 2 degrees of camber in the front with the oem rubber plates too.
Is it possible to use the 993 plates for my 964?!

regards from munich!

Short story - they will fit but you will not get much of additional camber in with stock narrow body 964 setup. They been designed for 993 rs front suspension.

thx guys!

I don`t need much additional camber, if i get the camber i currently have with the stock rubber plates thats ok. One of my rubber plates are clunking and i got the set of four rs camber plates quite cheap :-)

I think you guys are mistaken the 993 rear uses a 4 bolt vs three bolt pattern on the 964. I believe you will need to modify the tower to make them work.

that`s a valid point. I missed that. F**k.

I think the best way is to sell the 993 stuff and buy a set of four rennline top-mounts...

Oh, subject says "camber plates" - thats front and my reply stays.

Rears - depends on year of 964.

Early 964 can take machined 4 to 3 bolt adapters (I have that on my car, described in pelican thread) and will take 993 rs rear mounts just fine.

Late 964 will have problem. There's no space to 4 to 3 bolt adapter. Pretty thin adapter can be machined, but it will raise rear.

My reply was for the front to since that was the question. For the rear you're right.

hi guys,
today i`d a look at the car, with the spring plates in my hand.
In the rear: i think when changing the bolt pattern vom from 4 to 3, there is no problem anymore to fit the rear monoball top mount to the 964. My best friend has a mechanical workshop - so no problem (i hope so..) with this task.

In the front: i just hold the front spring-plate to my 964 chassis and i think the bolt pattern and the fitment direction is identically from 993 to 964?! Perhaps, it is necessary to interchange right/left camber plate.

Now my question: what is the exact problem with the front 993 camber plate in the 964 chassis!?

regards

thilo

I think the problem is that the 993 front track is wider than the 964 by about 10mm per side (due to revised longitudinals members), therefore the adjustment range provided by the 993 plates is not significant or favorable when run on the 964.

ok! That`s a valid point. THX! Perhaps i could "solve" this problem with interchanging left/right (done at bmw E36 M3 to solve camber problem).
