Default Transmission fill plug stripped...any suggestions

Hey Guys

I went to change the oil in my transmission the other day and the fill plug is stripped. I can't get the allen key to catch at all. Any tips on how to get this out now? (I've already ordered new plugs).

Thanks

Can you tap it loose with a cold chisel? I used that method with the seat bolts. Worked perfect.

It's pretty wide, so you have some options, and easy out may work on it.

Also a torx bit might fit in there with some tapping and hold it enough to loosen it.

Hammering torx bits into stripped Allen key holes works for me most of the time

An old trick to be used with a Torx or Allen, is to dip the end in some oil, then in some sand. The ssand takes up the slack. It worked for me on a stripped steering rack bolt.

Hopefully there's a Timecert made in the size and pitch of the plug. I'd look for that.
