Default Radar Detector Removal

Kind of a strange question. I have one of these installed in my car:

Mine is a little different from the pick, but it looks stock and it's referred to in the car's manual.

It's never worked, don't even know if would work if it did work. I'm going to remove the thing. Are there any other parts to this hiding in the car? I've never used radar detectors, so have no idea how they work. I just want it gone.

If it is an under the dash unit like in the above picture, you should have sensors in the grill up front I would guess. I have a K40 and my sensor is in the grill up front.

I had a K40 installed super stealth style with an innocuous **** installed on the passenger side center tunnel near the rear spoiler/diff lock ***** and the LEDs would flash when the **** was turned, presumably one way for highway driving, the other way for city driving. The unit itself was gone by the time I took ownership of it and I presume the sensor is gone as well although I've never had the nose of my car apart.

Dobie...it is outdated so you are not losing anything by removing it (even if it does work)

I had one in my car and had a sensor in the front grill area and another "black box" was installed on top of the alternator..

Follow the wires

Black boxes look something like the ones in the upper left of the picture

Too bad there will probably not be gold at the end of the hunt.

I have one of those. It does sorta work. Mine has front and rear sensors. The rear one was mounted in the rear bumper sort of near the cat.
