Never driven a Singer, but I have driven 964 and I like the engine in my 993. i also love 1969-1973 long hoods, especially the RS fendered cars.
So the Singer would keep me spoiled with all extra and finishings.
Bone stock 964 Turbo is indeed fun 911. I typically would walk past them years ago being a stupid 993 kool aid drinker.
Now I have white one going in my garage.... (i have seen the light)
Less money then a Singer and still really cool in its own kinda way without the need to be overdressed like the Singer.
As crazy as this sounds however, i would trade a perfectly good collector 964T for a hot rod miss mash Singer. (this year anyhow, in ten years who knows)

Singers are beautiful but I prefer the 3.6T
Having both would be a nice compromise.

It has come to a stall right now but should have the engine and suspension done soon. Working out the little details takes a lot of time.

Singer or 3.6T... I just happened to see both cars in the same day last week. Which would I take...
The 3.6t was was in perfect condition. Classic Guards Red, 100% with 31k miles. A legend.
It's so wonderful to see these cars, the fenders are sexy and goofy huge at the same time. Just such a powerful looking car. Take away the wing and fenders and it's looks 95% the same as my C2. Same interior. Same, same, same... I found myself thinking, "my C2 should be worth at least 100K if this is going for 300K."
The Singers' stance just takes your breath away and is at a while 'nother level, aided greatly by the huge dish of the wheels. The story continues throughout the car. Every part of the car is bespoke and the detail and quality is just astounding. Materials, colors, designs and features that us just beyond what we are used to in our cars. It's a fun car to be around and overshadows most cars around it.
Given the specialness and rarity of the 3.6T, it will always be a great ownership experience. It's muscular and raw, it was Porsche's biggest old-school rear wheel drive hammer. For investment purposes, it's best kept stock also. A beautiful reminder of what Porsche was in the early '90s.
You enter into a relationship with Singer as you build your perfect car. Shiny trim, visible fuel/oil filler caps. Interior quality of a car most people have never experienced before. On and on and on. You keep discovering features of the car, as it subtlety shows you its master class quality. Don't forget the Singers are getting big hp numbers and they weigh less than a standard C2... so it should be the better driver too. A beautiful showcase of all things that make air cooled Porsches special.
Singer please... Red, and done RS+ style.

I guess an enthusiast like me?
As nice as the Singers are I have a hard time seeing them as nothing more than a fad because I feel the market timing has suddenly turned against him. I don't appreciate the Porsche crest and logos on them they are not a tribute or clone although they are based on a Porsche; no different than Ruf. But cars built by Ruf left his shop with a Ruf badge. They are an incredibly cool car, but he has changed what the air cooled 911 experience is all about. I would say blending the old school air cooled experience with modern day technology makes for a great ride but now that the air cooled market has gone berserk I am not so sure that a simple RS or RSR clone wouldn't bring more attention and offer an experience a lot closer to what many are paying ungodly sums of money for. After all wasn't the idea marketed towards the ultra wealthy looking to own the next cool thing when suddenly all the rage has turned towards owning the original? Cool cars come and go and not all make it. Only time will tell I guess.
With that said I have no doubt the car is far more civilized and incredibly enjoyable experience and worth every penny and then sum.

but for me, your last option would be a backdating turbolook project nevertheless !

You want the 4.0L and some options? You start at $480K and wind up at $550K with the donor.
Therefore the price range is realistically $450-$550 and they have a line out the door.
I am happy with my choice!
