Default Good source to replace bulbs with leds

Yesterday i replaced my headlamps with the Sylvania silverstars. Now i am planning on upgrading all the other bulbs with leds.( brighter/ less energy usage). Has anybody done a full swap out? Where did you buy them? Part numbers? Thanks!

Try BergvillFX (http://www.bergvillfx.com/index.php/...d-led.html?p=1). The site is operated by Rennlist member ToreB. He offers both individual bulbs for a variety of Porsche applications and kits for the 993. He can probably help you put together a kit for your 964. Good luck!

Good idea. I just bought his remote lock, but don't have it installed yet.

His site is geared towards 993's ,but i will ask if he can get 964 lights. Thanks.

Read this thread:
http://www.dfwautoclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8633&page=3

I sourced my bulbs from dx.com. Take a while to arrive but cheap and work well. Be sure to compare the lumen output for whatever bulb you buy.

I've posted in another thread on using LED bulbs for the tail lights. This can affect your cruise control function but is workable with a 6ohm resistor fix, which is also documented. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-forum/704718-help-diagnosing-cruise-control.html

I went with bulbs from SuperbrightLEDs.com on my 3rd brake light and 5 brake light mod.

Remember to match the bulb color with the lense color yo get best results.

That is what I did too _but_ they are triple the price of sourcing from dx.com and only the same brightness as an incandescent (480 lumens). I ultimately ordered replacement lights from dx.com that were brighter (more lumens) than were available from superbrightleds.com and cheaper.

In my case, I ordered 1000+ lumen backup lights since I have to backup a steep, 80" wide, 4' high concrete-wall lined driveway in dark/rainy conditions. Visibility is priceless.

I have some superbrightleds I didn't use lying around. If anyone wants them, PM me and I'll send you details.

Got a link to those dx bulbs?

I used these 1156 and 1157 bulbs (220 lumen rating)
https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...led-tower/526/

Incandescent on brake lights, LEDs on center panel and 3rd brake light.

These are the reverse lights I ordered at Christmas. Took 3 or 4 weeks to arrive:
http://www.dx.com/p/zweihnder-1156-2...9#.VLgQ7CvF9yw

Superbrightleds.com reverse lights: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ower/526/1698/

Cabin lights:

This is the light for the glove box:
http://www.dx.com/p/car-festoon-2w-t...8#.VLgR0CvF9yw

T10 LED that works great for the front side marker lights. Like this but not this specific one. I think i got it from eBay but i don't recall exactly:
http://www.dx.com/p/bmw-t10-0-25w-14...8#.VLgSQCvF9yw

1157 red LED from superbrightleds:

Love that 5th brake light mod. I did it a couple years ago but then the lights got so leaky an shattered from age I had to replace them; a red vinyl cover didn't cut the mustard. I couldn't bring myself to cut into a brand-new reflector assembly to do the mod again. maybe sometime down the road.

fixed the links. links were parsed and shortened. try now.

Mike bought the reverse lights and 1157 red bulb from me, so unless anyone wants to pay shipping costs for the festoon LEDs, you're better off buying them directly yourself.

how Is that remote lock kit to install? Very invasive? Citing wires? Where do you mount the control unit?

I did some documentation, with links to bulbs used, for my interior and brake light LED install.
