Default Source of clunk found? Rear sway bar bushings separating

I think I've located the source of the clunking sound I get from the rear drivers side while drive over uneven pavement (it is fairly loud and seems to unsettle the car). I jacked up the car to look at the rear sway bar bushings and the driver side is separated by about 1/2". I've ordered some Powerflex bushings and will replace them one of these weekends.

Question I have is should I also replace the rear end links? They are rubber on both ends so they look like something that would be tired and worn at this point. I've looked online and apparently the left side end link is no longer available (Pelican, ECStuning and some other websites state they are no longer available and no replacement is available.

I guess I will try the bushings first and if that cures the nasty clunk.

Anybody replace just the bushings and not the end links as well?

Thanks!

I went with SuperPro swaybar bushings instead of Powerflex because they we're less expensive. Make sure you get out your measuring caliper and confirm the thickness of the rear swaybar.

My rear droplinks are all busted too, one of the ends looks like it got jacked up from and is no longer circular.

I ordered replacement links from this group buy.

Shipping to the UK was prohibitively expensive, so he sent me the necessary loose pieces. They've been laying around my garage but I planned to get them installed in one of the upcoming weekends.

You also have these, a bit expensive but well made and replicas of the cup-version (without rubber).

Thanks guys.

Vandit. I actually looked for Superpro but can't find a source in the US for them. Your suspension refresh DIY thread is what inspired me to do my own suspension! Thank you.

Thomas. I would buy the Tarett but I am concerned about ride harshness. I've always heard monoballs are really rough, but I am not sure if this is the case for Swaybar end links.

Those TFS Motorsport pieces are monoball too, but you can't see them because they have the rubber protective boots on them. Those boots are sold separately by Tarett.

I went ahead and ordered the Tarrett as well as the rubber boots. Should I grease the monoballs with anything before putting on the boots?

I also found the OEM style end links (964.333.074.01, 964.333.073.01) can be purchased by FVD Brombacher in Germany. Cost wise they are very close to the Tarett so I went with that.

you will not note any harshness from those. Don't worry!

Thanks for the input ThomasC2. I also asked a good friend of mine with a Subaru WRX STI race car and he said the Tarett's will be fine too.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the new rear sway bar bushings and rear drop links improve the handling. I am very happy with the results of my new front control arm bushings, tie rod ends, front sway bushings and drop links!

Will do Hepcat63. Parts are on the way and I plan to do the work on Saturday.
