I wonder if folks are cross-shopping 3.6 Turbos and Singer 911s...

Its about time 964's finally get the recognition they deserve. These cars are just pure bliss.

Some weird looking mods... can't say it flows. looks more like some. Worn pieces were replaced with whatever was available the quickest I guess.

I would expect a nicer example for that money...

I also realize I shouldn't have passed on that tired 965 I checked out 6 years ago.

What makes the 3.6 turbos so much more valuable over the 3.3 964 Turbo?

They were only produced for 1 year and have more power.

As well as numbers being at play, 964 turbo I was a bit of a compromise as it had the same 3.3 engine as that of the previous generation 3.3 930 turbo alas on the heavier 964 car and eventhough it had a uprated turbo it was actually slower than 930 car whereas the later turbo II had the the proper upgraded 3.6 engine.

I have been following this car. It is the same Amazon green as my 928GTS and 93 C2. Great color although you either love it or hate it. It color shifts and works well with the tan interior. I know of just a few 3.6's in this color many more 3.3's were painted it than 3.6's. Don't forget the 3.6 commands a premium because it is the last of the single turbo rear wheel drive Porsche's also was the first US production car to wear red calipers and use 18" wheels. The only US Porsche to wear three piece wheels and is a tremendous fun and involving car to drive. The engine case was so good it was carried through all Turbo cars including the 997 GT3's and turbos. The 3.3's in stock form were nice but the 3.6 is a different ride with more low end torque and less turbo lag. 0-60 was a full half second quicker and 2.5 seconds off the 3.3's 0-100 times nearly identical numbers to the 993TT in some respects quicker. Although you can always make any car quicker if you don't mind paying for the mods.

As much as I would like to see this car sell for the asking price I would say he is about $50k+ out of his mind. Too many mods and unanswered questions but you never know. I do know of a black car with less mileage that is under negotiations for around $300k. Sale should be completed this week. These cars are still unknown to the average Porsche owner which I believe is holding them back but I don't see why $300k will not be more the norm for these cars in the future. Here is an interesting 3.3 I heard they upped the price to $199,999.00 http://town-motorcar.porschedealer.c...ned/search.php
