The aluminium cooling fan housing? That would be $$$.

Will remember to ask next time. I have a bit of a stash now. Will need to do an audit/sell-off when this is done...

Engine went back in yesterday. Just a few little bits and bobs left - sunroof seal, brake bleed, replace hood struts. We are putting in a rothsport oil valve after we've run the engine a bit...

We're up and running! Got a few other bits and bobs fixed. Couldn't finish fixing the sunroof as I had a missing part. Went to fix the drivers seat, and even though I fixed the fore/aft movement, I subsequently broke the up/down movement. Managed to fix it tonight, though.

Warm up for oil:

Just finished ready, congrats so far! Huge progress on the car's refreshment.

I am still stuck at the spoiler step. Mine had a Turbo tea tray and I switched back to a Carrera decklid. As mine is a 89 model year, it came with a switch in the decklid instead of a switch in the center console. Unfort. the decklid I got was a post-1989 so It hadn't the little switch and the wiring loom for the connector was differently wired than the one coming from the car. I understand a car mechanic car fix it by reading things etc, but without a switch it seems pretty complicated to debug. There are some wiring schemes out there but also you would need to rewire the entire decklid connector and I am not ready to pay multiple K's to get the job done. I was searching for a 1989 decklid spoiler loom but unfortunately, it seems that nobody has one/is aware of the difference with a post-1989. So I'm stuck here.

Thanks!

Spoiler situation sounds frustrating.

My secret weapon is that the guy I do my work with is a qualified auto electrician. Maybe if you can find a local one they can trouble-shoot or adapt a newer system for you? It's only a switch after-all. Maybe it won't be too complicated for an auto-elec to work out?

I contemplated 'giving up' and getting a spoiler a-la-RS America. Thankfully I found that control box in time.

Finally!!! I bought these wheels in Christmas 2018!!

The wheel refurb guy took SIX MONTHS. Very frustrating. Then, when I was able to get the wheels on, we had lots of problems with valve stems. We finally settled on our third set - authentic BBS stems - as the other options just would not seal.

Not sure I got the gold tone quite right, but it's pretty good for now. I think I need to switch to clear indicator lenses.

Fitment is perfect (for me). Zero rubbing in the rear, a little rubbing on full-lock in the front because I don't have the steering stops installed. I'll dig out all my suspension/alignment/tire/wheel dimension info for benefit of others.

Photos are a bit crap. I'll try get some better photos soon.

Nice! I found the same with the valve stems when I rebuilt a set of bbs rs 3 piece wheels a few years back. The BBS stems were the best.

If you have a chance I'd love to see more about the rothsport oil valve. Is is basically a one way valve at the engine breather?

Pete
