I have put my 964 C4 on a diet as well - with all the mods listed up in my thread the car weights now 1270kg (100% fuel).
https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...ghtweight.html
Doors, bonnet, fenders, rear lid are still Stock. Lower engine cover still mounted.
My goal is to reach the 1200kg area - thats gonna be a tough (or expensive) challenge!

cool!

thanks! Another lightweight C4 form germany :-)

if you`ve reached 1270 with the (heavy) GT3 wheels and w/o carbonfiber bonnet or something else fancy stuff and with OEM headers, my target with 1250 should be possible. I hope the RS carpet in my car is not that heavy.

Why not just go to your local public weighbridge (UK)..

"Public weighbridges are available for use by businesses or the general public for the weighing of vehicles and objects where determination of a specific weight/load is important, including ensuring that vehicles are not overloaded. They are operated by local businesses and are generally sited at premises such as quarries, feed mills and docks. A fee is often charged for each weighing carried out, which normally ranges from £5 to £10."

List of commercial and public....

Cheers.

Mark's car is stunning.
Mark, I was thinking you could lose some more weight with a fixed spoiler instead of the motorised one
What do you think?

Just re-read your tread, nevermind :-)

A C4 will be +100-110 kg, all things being equal.
Steve, how much fuel did you have at that weight?

It's an "old truth" that the C4 is plus 100 kg. But I really wonder. The extra parts are:
-2 front driveshafts
-1 front diff
-1 drive/torque tube to front diff
-Maybe is the G64 tranny a bit heavier
-Rest of the car should be as a C2

Could this really add upp to 100 kg. +/-70 kg sounds more resonable.

Ideas?

Thomas

I can't vouch for the accuracy but the link below gives kerb weights for the 964 models:

http://www.carfolio.com/search/resul...match=e&mf=964

According that site a C2 is 1350 Kg and a C4 is 1450 Kg.

I think the difference works out to be around 70kg of additional metalwork and an additional 30kg of pure awesomeness - so 100kg in total.

Or switch to a lighter C4 system from the 993? Save 50 KG, and keep 4-wheel drive!

From this thread: 9m 964C4 project car - 9m64RS Lightweight the likely outcome?

Yes it can be done, it's no more complicated than the job I am doing here and would make a huge difference to the handling balance of the car - in a good way.

In a nutshell to convert a 964C4 to a 993C4 system you will need:
993C4 gearbox
993C4 Torque tube
993C4 front differential
964C2 or RS rear driveshafts
Adapter flanges to convert 964C4 front driveshafts to fit 993C4 differential
