Default Car won't start after clutch job

Hey guys,

I took the engine/trans out to replace the clutch (PP, flywheel), valve adjustment, new alternator, oil lines etc.

It's back in the car now and it won't start. It cranks/turns over, when I stop cranking it will sort of sputter. I can smell unburned fuel in the exhaust. I pulled one of the spark plug wires and had the wife crank it and it will spark to ground. Checked plug wire routing and it looks normal. Don't see any plugs disconnected.

Ideas? No codes.

Try unplugging one of the control modules off the dual coil. Your only running single plugs then. Then try the other coil.

964 dual spark ignition is very sensitive.

You are not getting a code yet because it hasnt started.??

I would focus on wiring harness connections to sensors and plugs and wires off distributer.

Good luck

Fixed. Distributor was off one tooth.

Nice job. You mean when cylinder 1 was at TDC your main distributor rotor wasn't lined up to its mark?

awesome!
Curious, did the car start on a single coil thus narrowing your search to the opposite side?

No, a mechanic at Poudre Sports Car, which happens to be a 4 minute bike ride from my house, suggested that to look at. He also suggested looking at the flywheel sensor as Vandit did.

Curious how the dist was off a bit. You never messed with that to do a clutch etc?
