Hi Frank, Stu

What I meant by 'tag on nicely' was meant for you guys, not for me unfortunately.
I'll be at a Porsche event at NB ring, but I'll be car-less at least tour wise.

Good news for someone who needs my spot tho

Looking fwd to some great 'wyndey' road footage!

So for the UK drivers, does this mean leaving on the 11th and returning on monday 15th? (Which is fine for me).

Hi Stuart, on our tours des grands alpes we stayed in Briancon Ibis Hotel, nice, cheap and in the middle of the mountains.

Ok, sorry for the delay in finalising this!
Henrik's Knowledge of these road's is far greater than mine and he's putting the route together.
At this point, I don't think we need that to agree the dates etc.

Start date 11th September.
Midday / Early afternoon Eurotunnel approx. £60.00.
Evening stop over in Troyes just south of Paris (4hr Drive) approx. €60 per room at the Campagnile Troyes Sud.

Friday 12th September.
Drive from Troyes to Evian or Thonon les Bains on the French side of Lake Geneve.
This is a 5 to 6 hr drive across country and over the Jura mountains using fast country roads and some great twisty's.
Stop for Lunch and meet up with Henrik and the others travelling down from Holland and Belgium.
After Lunch we drive some Alpine passes across to Lake Annecy
This is a 2-3 hr drive depending on the route we take.
Hotel and a good evening in Annecy. Hotel cost approx. €60-80.00 per room.

The routes for Saturday and Sunday, Monday are still in the planning.
We want a suitable centrally located hotel, possibly the Ibis as Ziu has recommended (thank you Ziu). This will then be our base for 2 or 3 nights.

Finish date 15th or 16th September
Late evening Eurotunnel approx. £55.00

I will post a map with this first section of roads later today.

One question for you all.
Do you want to be back in the UK on Monday night or Tuesday midday.
The drive back from Geneva to London inc the Eurotunnel is about 12 hrs door to door, though I have done it in 10.
If you want to be back Monday, then we need to be making our way back from Sunday afternoon, or if everyone is good for a Tuesday return we use Monday for the majority of the drive back, and catch a morning / midday Eurotunnel train on Tuesday 16th?

Estimated costs.

Return Eurotunnel cost when I checked a few days ago was around £55 each way.

Hotel for Troyes is the Campagnile Sud and cost around €75 euros per room with twin beds.

Hotel for Sevrier / Annecy will be approx €60 - €80 euros per room again for twin bed. Nothing confirmed yet.

Hotel for Megeve is the Park and Suites as per the link. Cost per twin room will be approx. €80 per night. We stay here for 2 nights.

For the return drive on Monday it will take approx. 8 hours to drive to Reims, we can find some decent roads rather than motorway.
A stop over in Reims for the night, then a 2-3hr drive to the Eurotunnel.

Approx. €80 per twin room.

Friday night hotel to be confirmed (Henrick know a B&B that's very good but is looking for the name).
This will be concluded in the next day or so.

Saturday and Sunday nights I've selected the Park and Suites hotel Megeve.
I have reserved 8 rooms!

Cost is approx. €80 euros per night

I now need confirmation of who is coming and deposits paid and I will confirm bookings for all hotels.

I must have confirmation on numbers and if you want your own room or are happy to share.

This has to be confirmed by Wednesday this week.

cheers

Stuart
