Floor board 'cupped/dished' washers
Hi,
I'm looking for some of the large dished/cupped washers that are used to secure the cup car style floor boards. Has anybody found a source of these? The ones I have managed to find are are too small, like those off snowboards. The original items look to be something like 2inch accross.
Cheers Rob

Rob,
I Never emanaged to find a retail source for them, as you say all far too small.
Luckily ThomasC2 had some sets made up along with the correctly specced bracket a couple of years ago, Boxsey and myself have thes efitted to our cars, but I dont know if he can get any more
If you need correct measurements or photos happy to oblige

Darn. I may try and fabricate them as I have a press. I'll have to get the thinking cap on for something I can use as former. Flat washers really don't look right.

I used the snowboard ones as I couldn't find the bigger ones. Worked fine as I counter sunk them.
Watch out on your board thickness. The original sponge has a recess for the chassis rail that runs front to back. Its not flat, it dips at the rear. The rebate in the sponge at the front is really deep and means it sits just higher than the rail. I had 9mm ply lying around and put a rebate in it to enable it sit right. You don't want it too high.
I didn't bother with brackets. Its a snug fit and you dont need them. I relied on small wooden blocks screwed to the bottom of the board. I drilled holes in it and once I had it in the right position, I used a depth gauge to determine the height of blocks. Easy peasy and reversable.

I've made the boards up from 6mm ply, sealed them and sprayed black. Have a large piece of grip tape infront of the pedals.
I've put two rivnuts in the beam to take the board and will make up a bracket to fix to the floor on the tunnel side to take the third floorboard fixing. Like you say, its a snug fit but I'd prefer to have anything in cabin secured down. The cup washers kinda look good to
