Default FS - Porsche 964 MAF Kit

Brand new kit from DMEShop24 for a Porsche 964. It replaces your AFM with a MAF but requires no changes to the DME.

I bought this kit for my 964, but now going a different route with a stand alone ECU that I will not need a MAF or AFM.

Price is $800 shipped. I paid over $1000 for it, so my loss is your gain.

Hello Ducks964,

I’m french and I have a 964 C2 built in 1990.
Actually, I want to optimize my engine by upgrading AFM with a MAF.
Are you always selling your MAF ?

You can get them here: http://dmeshop.de/index.php?cPath=11

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of these...??

The person that bought it from me off Pelican said it worked great for him and was easy to install. The above is the website I purchased it from.

In France, it seems to be the important step to increase the power and the efficiency of the engine before modify the ECU Eprom.
I have just a few feedback of this model. It is also used on 3.0 and 3.2 type G. the seller is in activity at least 10 years ago. In Germany, the feedbacks seem good.
I ‘ll buy it in Germany but if you want sell yours with a good price, I am interested.

Any chance you could do a before and after dyno run to see if there is any truth to the claims of increased power/torque.

I' ve bought the MAF kit this week at dmeshop.
I don't know when the kit will arrive.
When it will be installed on my 964, I 'll tempt to tell you my opinion and the result on dyno

In my view, the obstruction caused by the suspended sensor in the middle of the orifice, plus the mesh obstructing the inlet, is going to decrease the air-flow significantly. It would be very interesting to see dyno numbers to know for certain.

Got this MAF kit up and running last night and drove in to work this morning. First impression is that there is no night and day difference. I thought the engine sounded a bit crisper when I revved it, but I'd have to do a back-to-back with the original MAF to confirm. Main thing is that it is plug-n-play.

I think my fears about the flow restriction are unfounded, because the air-box aperture is square and smaller in area than the circular MAF aluminium mounting flange. I did need to file the ally flange internal corners as they weren't a perfect match for the airbox aperture.

It will be interesting to see any dyno results from anyone else who has done the install. I plan to run with my wideband AFR sensor and gauge when I get a change to reinstall it, so will report back any findings then.

It would seem to me that without any other changes to the engine, one probably wouldn't expect to see performance improvement. I thought the idea was when you've done major upgrades like cams, valves, displacement, and/or exhaust systems, you would come up against the limits of the stock AFM and therefore the MAF would then help with improved airflow. You'd still need to remap your fueling.

In other words, you can open up the intake but if you've got the same lungs, fueling, and exhaust, you're not really gaining anything. You have to take a more holistic approach! The MAF is just one piece of the puzzle.
