Know this one's been discussed before, but a bit of searching and I found a picture posted by vandit from a while back ( it helped that I'd just watched the Ruf Yellowbird video from the 'ring too!!!)
So, as the pit will at some time in the near (hopefully 😉 future have both rear quarters cut out, and new metal put in, why not delete the rain gutters? It's going to be properly welded, so no loss of strength, not driven too much in the rain (I know, I'm in Scotland....), I'm not racing it. Purely for the fact that it looks pretty damn good
I may be the minority opinion, but I really like the rain gutters on the 964. It adds to the classic looks and is an interesting detail to my eye. Not even sure why I like it so much, it's just a reminder that the car isn't a regular modern machine.
Again, just an opinion. If you like the gutter less look, power to you!

+1. I love gutters, too. Would never get rid of mine.
Fairly simple practice. Cut a section out. Weld it. Cut another section out, weld it and so on. If you cut the whole gutter off at once then you can get in a bit of trouble and it starts going wobbly
