I just got the PPI results back for 91 C2 in manual. The seller wants low 30s. 80K miles, no reseal/rebuild, original clutch/flywheel. Looks great inside and out and drives great. Anything serious I should be concerned about? If so, what kind of costs are associated with the fix?

Nothing on the list of faults is overly expensive, so I wouldn't be worried about that. I would plan on spending some money to get these maintenance items fixed as well as some other items that you may not know about. Remember, these cars are 20+ years old and time/age is affecting things like rubber seals/hoses.

First off, kudos on doing the PPI. A lot of prospective buyers do not take the car for an inspection and end up spending thousands in repairs. Which coincidentally is what you're facing if you were to purchase that car.

Engine is OK. Not great, not terrible. But I can see a rebuild in the not too distant future. Especially with the oil leaks it currently has, if you want to seal it properly you'll have to drop it anyway. So that's the big ticket item. With 80K on the original clutch, that will have to be replaced at some point in the near future as well. So between those 2 items, you're looking at anywhere between $9K to 15K. $9K if you do some of the work, $15K if you end up building a bullet-proof engine.

The rest is small potatoes in comparison but it would add up to about a grand worth of repairs. Maybe more depending on who does the A/C system.

Low 30s?

Ask the people that did the PPI for a ballpark (or better) figure $ to fix the issues!

They quoted $6500 for the fixes. Is that in the ballpark?

They didn't itemize the cost of the fixes so it's for items listed. I know it doesn't include the cost of a reseal.

Counterpoint on the leaks:

My car ('89 C4) leaks. A lot. From everywhere.

Any problem besides the spots on the floor? None. Driven it 20K miles since I bought it, and it has never been an issue. Yes it smells a bit. Yes I keep an eye on oïl consumption. And yes I have a rebuild (new engine in fact) planned, but it has not been cause for immediate spending of money.

These cars become projects and they don't have to be perfect. You can do some of the work yourself and some when you have extra money. That's how I do it with my 993.

Asking price seems high for condition based on PPI result and near future needs.

Leakdown #s seem high. Did the shop tell you where it was leaking from (i.e. the valve guides, head sealing surface, crankcase)?

just my 2c worth... I never bothered getting a PPI - but have been around cars for 40 years and went with what I saw, felt and drove. Yes, these cars are over 20 years old, yes, PPI's can be valuable, but I decided that the $800 odd it was going to cost for a PPI to put back into the car again. I don't see anything serious on that list to worry about - most you can fix yourself. Oil leaks - depending on how bad can be usually be managed without too much issue.
$6500 to fix seems pretty unrealistic - unless their labor hour rates are massive.
30K seems way too high too ?

Does seem high. Lots of these are minor and you can just put up with the oil leaks. Perhaps you can negotiate the price down with those results.
I think Cody's red 89 C4 in Calgary is a better buy at about 29k USD. That's if you are open to a red C4.
