I'd say it's 50/ 50 here.

Sam conversation about widths, some prefer more tyre contact patch and some prefer less.

Also a lot of aftermarket Porsche wheels are 18"

In terms of tyres go with the standard YOKO 48s or TOYO 888s or a good summer/ track tyre YOKO AD08s. Can't go wrong with those.

Have a search for "Show me your 964 with aftermarket wheels" a lot of wheels have been posted there to inspire.
I think ill stay with the 17s . I dont like too grippy a 911 and overtyring it may not be the way forward for my style of driving . thanks for the thread title , ill look it up ;

arent they 18s?

Track wheel - be fast before pretty! More petrol money and octane booster!,

Agreed on the Oz allegrita ... Very light and sturdy for the price
Lots of sizes as they're being made now .. OZ do F1 rims .. Think they're 8.4kg

Unsprung weight so rule of thumb is 4x more impact than sprung

My avatar are the 17 BoxS rims, on the weight list, cheap ...
996 10 spokes are also on the list under 17in and are super light!

Porsche 996 10 spokes are 17" and super light. Not necessarily easy to find anymore though since a few 964 owners have snapped up a set or two

I second that they are great wheels. I've got them on mine with my winter tyres. I think they look great too.

I'm selling my Veloce Gt1s - Super light weight, super strong as forged aluminium, and look mega (with silver/ black finish). I had them plasti-dipped last year for Spa. Slight but fixable road rash on two wheels, otherwise perfect.

Colin at Ninemeister has a set on his 993 RS. Weblink below

http://www.teamdynamicsracing.com/pr.../velocegt1.htm

8.5 x 18 e50 Just 7.4kg
10.0 x 18 e56 Just 7.9kg

pm if interested - open to sensible offers considering how light they are (and they would suit your car very nicely if you had them finished properly in satin black ;-))

Hey Baf! 17" magnesium Cups. I have them on my RS and no problem around London...and our roads are no where as good as the continent/German ones.

There are a couple sets hanging around eBay at the moment if I'm not wrong.
