Default Where does this vacume line to to?

From the diagrams I have, I can't figure out where this vacuumeline goes to...

Do any of you guys know?

It goes to some other vacuum piece that has a harness plug, and from there it goes under the intake and toward the firewall where it meets up with some other hoses. I think it's related to the brake booster, but I could be wrong.

EDIT: I went to the garage and got you some better pics.

and my car is a Carrera 2.

Borrowed a pic from *jpar's engine teardown thread*.

You see that circular piece at the back of the Bank 1 intake plenum that has a hose hooked up to it? That's where the line hooks up.

You have a C4? Go study the pics in jack.pe's engine rebuild thread. I bet it resembles yours. C4s use a electric hydraulic pump brake booster. No need for some of that vacuum hardware.

Vandit,

Thanks for the pics. I don't think it goes to back of bank 1 (it's the vacuum canister you are describing I believe).

On your pics there is an extra electrical connector... the middle one of the three. The top is the Mercedes connector, the one underneath it; I don't have in my car.

I have a C4, option 150 (no cat)... and I think it may have something to do with that option.

But still, I wonder what it measures.

The top connector (Benz logo) is the vacuum switch for the resonance flap. It relates to the vacuum canister. All these are hooked up w/ thin hoses. C2 and C4 have this.

The middle connector is the discussion point in this thread. It has the larger hoses hooked up to it. Your car doesn't have it. I believe it's related to the vacuum brake booster, and since your car is a C4, it would make sense that it not exist on your car.

The bottom green connector is the bank 2 knock sensor. Your car has this.

In the pic you posted, the left vacuum hose (larger, block off in your pic) is brake vacuum related, the center (thin) vacuum hose is for the fuel pressure regulator, and the right vacuum hose (also thin) is for the resonance flap operation.

Hey guys, can I get a second opinion on my comments above? I just looked at jack.pe's pics and his C4 has the valve that is missing on Navaros911's car.

According to PET it is 944.605.240.01 - Bleeder Valve.

This thread seems to indicate the valve is related to the fuel tank carbon canister.

Interesting...

When I get home and have some time to crawl under the car to do my engine mounts i'll check for the carbon canister.
