The Black Audi RS6
If anybody knows who the driver of the black Audi RS6 is who is driving round the North West (UK) please thank him for providing me with the sport of giving him a good pasting and also for helping me to realise that I dont need a performance chip, the standard car is fast enough.
Cheers,
Dave

To put it bluntly, that's bollocks. Unless he wasn't trying of course.

I have seen a few of the RS Audi`s at trackdays - they struggle to keep up with modded hot hatches - they`re rubbish really.

I have to agree with Christer, the RS6 is a very quick motor car with huge mid range acceleration. A standard 964 would find it very hard to keep up(at least in a straight line).

No offence intended guys. I know the RS6 does 124mph in 17.6 secs. I guess our cars would be in the 21.5 or so range. So only 3-4 seconds difference but at 124mph I would guess that is a lot of car lengths.
BTW, forget 1600kgs, try 1840kgs!
so I retract my statement and apologise - in a straightline I wouldn't want to mess with one but at 1840kgs I guess it would be a whole different story in the bends.
1840kgs - what do they make it out of? I can't believe that weight.....???

Christer, do you realise a Ferrari 575 Maranello weighs in at nearly 2000kgs once you have all the options?? Thats insane in my opinion! Poor old Enzo must be doing cartwheels in his grave, his philosophy was that only light cars are any good...

I'm not sure I'd agree with the weight of the car being a huge issue for the RS6 around corners.
I used to have an original D-Reg Quattro Turbo before the 964 and the weight of that was unbelievable. It was a quick car although the Porsche is noticably quicker in acceleration and top end. Despite the weight the Quattro was much quicker around corners and I assume that the reason for this being that the Audi was by far the best balanced car I have ever driven.
The Quattro handling has always been fantastic and whilst the S2 failed to match the original as a driving experience I can't see that they would have lost all of their know how over the last 20 years.
