You have some options here.

You can replace the entire piece with an OEM piece which is very expensive.

Elephant Racing just recently introduced a bushing kit that replaces what wears out on the OEM unit, the bushing.

Or you can replace the whole assembly with the ERP / Smart Racing monoball spring plate. This is what I have.

The OEM option is obviously stock, so it retains the Weissach effect (active suspension geometry, rear axle toes in under braking) and all that stuff.

The Elephant Racing piece says it is slightly firmer than stock, so it reduces the Weissach effect.

The ERP monoball plate will eliminate the Weissach effect and it also allows you to adjusts toe (threaded portion) independently from camber (via eccentric). The OEM setup you adjust toe and camber via two eccentrics and they're linked to each other, so you kinda have to go back and forth with each until it falls where you want it.

Thanks for the info.

I saw those options, but still think they are way too expensive for what they are, or I am missing something (most probably).

For 4x4, people make what they call long arms: tubes or plates with monoball at one or both end much cheaper.

Any one has dimensions?

now that is a good answer!

Vandit - is the ERP the closest to a modern (996) cup you can go with the 64?

Vadit: would you be so king to tell me the size of the monoball used by ERP?

Thanks,

The monoball on the end is stamped "JM12T FK US"

A google search shows this.

You'd need to fabricate the conical fitting on the end of the monoball so that it mates up properly with the mounting point on the car. I guess you can use the OEM piece as a guide once you have it out of the car.

The construction of the adjuster is basically standard threads on the inside where the monoball threads into, then the outside of that same piece has reverse threads and it goes into the large piece. That way you can adjust the length while installed on the car, like a tie-rod end.

$19.97 !!!! WOW nice markup then for ERP

Just kidding, I know the ERP package offers alot more than just these.

Even still, for that price it may be worth bagging two of them to keep in the spares box.

Thanks again for your kind help.

With that reference I have the specifications for the monoball, and using and old spring plate I am going to try to fabricate one.

I'll try to keep you updated.

Thanks for the links; I hadn't seen those rear-arm rebuild bits from Elephant. Stuff is still a lot of money.
