Replacing front control arm bushes
Has anyone replaced their front control arm/A arm bushes?

I am looking at replacing them with the ones that Elephant racing supply.

A OEM-construction bushing such as the ER pieces shouldn't be difficult to replace since you press the old ones out and press the new ones in.
Getting the arms off the car is a bit of a beat down, but not difficult.
I don't want to get Bill started on poly bushings, but I went w/ the Powerflex bushings on mine (similar construction and setup to the popular Chris Walrod solution). I didn't use a press to remove the old bushings, and getting them out w/ a hacksaw an chisel was a beat down for the 1st arm but I figured it out and the 2nd went much faster. Installation of the poly bushings doesn't require a press but a nice C-clamp is helpful when inserting the inner metal sleeves.

I use chris walrod bushings. Have done a lot of them on both 964/993's and they have all worked out great. Both daily driver and track cars. Getting the arms off is easy, getting the bushings it is a bit more of a chore...it is handy to have a vise to clamp the arms in.

I posted this on 93 forum, anyway:
Here are few pics on DIY. I have Harbor Freight press and pretty standard press accessories. The only trick is to get rears 1st and after that press out fronts.
1st remove rears. Heat it up and use screwdriver to knock out bushing.
After that pick up press to match with front bushing and press it out:
Here are bushings:
Here are some of press accessories you can get at harbor tools and some I used for BMW. Nothing fancy.
Oleg.

I went with the Paragon product too. It's better that the 23 year old originals.
The only issue I had was burning the old rubber out. When I went outside with the torch, they were working on the gas line at the next door. One way to test for a gas leak.
Oleg: I need to get some of those press accessories! I'm running out of good sockets.
