964 Light Globes/Bulbs list
I have to replace a couple of light bulbs in my number plate lights and was considering changing to LED type bulbs. I was wondering if there existed a list of the light bulbs in a 964. I know I am just being lazy but rather than going through the whole car including instrument lights I thought there may be a list that I could use?
I checked the PET but could not see anything there.
Otherwise if there is nothing I will make a list for others to use that maybe considering doing the same.

You can read through my thread from last year regarding interior lights (not instrumentation) and brake/marker lights.

Is there a LED equivalent for the instrument lights. Like Vandit I have discovered I have a light in the engine bay that I had forgotten about.
Copied and pasted from Excel so not all headings line up perfectly

Also keep in mind that LEDs on the turn signals will cause the signals to flash very quickly.
Also, not all dual Intensity lights are equal, so you may run into a bulb whose brightness doesn't adequately differentiate taillight from taillight+brake.
Also, match the LED color to the lens color.

Learn from others experience is always good value

Is there any way around this other than buying a new flasher unit?

Stop/Tail 380 P21/5W T25 1157 Do you know if this is the case with this bulb or does it vary according to supplier?
Also, match the LED colour to the lens colour.
I was going with all white bulbs and allow the lens colour to create the colour? Is this wrong?
So much to learn when it seemed so simple to begin with. I will post what I learn.

I believe they sell LED flasher modules to slow the hyper blinking. Never tried out tho and I don't run LEDs on my indicators.
I believe the dual intensity LEDs I got from superbrightleds.com were pretty good about differentiating between intensities, comparable to the filament bulbs. The cheaper ones from dx.com were not.
I don't know how to explain the science behind difference in color wavelengths and color spectrum between an LED and a filament bulb, but the basic rule w/ LED bulbs is that you always match the color of the lens, otherwise you get very poor light output. Taillights, you'll want red LEDs. Marker lights, orange LEDs. Et cetera.

Sorry to bump a very old thread. Are the bulbs listed for RoW cars? I just recently picked up a 91 C4 and my license plate bulb is not a 3893 as suggested by sylvania and super bright LEDs. They were actually festoon type same as the Dome light bulb.
