Sorry about the accidents!

I am very worried about that same issue myself, especially down here in the Southern states where every guy in a cut rate pickup thinks it is necessary to raise it 6".

Would love to add the 993 spoiler with the flashing brake light....It seems it isn't easy to remove the USDM 3rd brake light?

Will have to investigate further

So the engineers are looking at my car on Monday so hopefully they'll agree the estimates and work can progress on getting the battered rear of my car fixed.

I've decided to get my front bumper/PU sorted out to as mine is cracked in several places. I've sourced a reasonable one off ebay that'll work as its replacement. I've been looking at the whole brake duct thing and with the bumper already off, it would seem like a good time to tackle this install as well as if they are painting the rear PU they might as well do the front and the brake ducts. Now I've been looking for the Techart Brake fog light combo kit for a very long time and while I know that FVD have similar kit the cost is pretty horrendous. I don't think I can justify EUR 848.12 inc tax and shipping. I know that there are the conventional RS style duct kits out there too but I don't want to loose the fog light functionality.

Does anyone out there have a Techart kit they want to sell or a lead to anyone who might? I don't mind the FVD version but obviously not at Eur 848.00

Cheers Chaps

I bought the FVD techart kit last year. Yes, it is a fair bit of wedge but as used complete sets never seem to come up for sale I had no choice but to buy new. I tried to ignore my wanting of it but to no avail.
Still have not got round to fitting it yet though.

Mike, I'm pretty sure the fog light and duct kit you mention at FVD is actually the Techart kit.

FVD do their own kit but without foglights for about half that price:

Thanks for the info Steve. I'm sorely tempted by the foglight/ducts but thats a pretty price. This morning it was really bad fog near me and I had the fogs on. I have to say they did help.

Frank ( or any else running the FVD kit ) can you chirp in and convince me to pull the trigger on the FVD kit. Are the foglights more aesthetic than functional in your opinion. You guys are best placed to provide a real world view.

The FVD techart light kit uses Hella vw golf mk3 foglight units which if I am not mistaken are ellipsoidal so should provide a strong light output.

Ilko's 5 light brake light mod is also very handy. It involves using the Euro rear foglight holes as additional brake lights.

But Frank - your explanation for adding the 993 high mount light is very compelling. Canadian 964s came with a high mount 3rd light but it's a bit small and crappy. It actually blocks rearward vision. Not sure if Euro or all US cars had this light. I dislike it.
Frank taking your lead on this one I have ordered the rear spoiler/ third brake light kit. Found that all the bits needed worked out cheaper from Porsche.

Part list is
Third Brake Light/spoiler - part # 00004480012
Cable harness - part # 993 612 893 00
2 x Connector - part # 944 612 546 00
Adhesive kit - part # 000 043 203 42

Total is £411.31 inc VAT

I haven't got a quote for the paint and fitting yet but will let you know.

I've also ordered the flashing light kit off ebay as well so I'm hoping to avoid more costly rear end shunts.

I'll post pics once done.

IIRC the adhesive kit is c£90 for what is a couple of sticky pads. There are cheaper options to get the cost down.

The first part number should be a complete kit, you might not need the others. Here's a link from suncoast here in the states.

Only 289 from these guys and they're in the UK

Musicmad.....: Please tell me you have a picture of your car (full side view) wearing those RED Cup1's sitting in your garage, seen in the your first thread. I've been wondering about doing that to my black cab. I'd sure like to see what it'd look like beforehand. Thanx !!

Yup - IIRC that's where I got mine. Be warned though Type 911 often don't have stock and can keep you waiting without telling you lead times. IMO call to order to find out if it's in stock and if not the lead time.

Mike - you'll love the mod. Really makes a difference, you'll attract attention every time you touch the brakes and other drivers really do keep their distance once you've flashed 'em

Hi Cptn,

I got the runners/subframe from Capital Seating. (www.capitalseating.co.uk) They delivered in about a week from Recaro in Germany and were not too expensive.

They slot right into the holes left by the seats I took out and are very solid.

I love my speeds they suit the car and are very supportive and comfortable.

Just seen your early post. The TechArt fog/ duct kit does exactly what it says on the tin. Build quality is very good, fit & finish perfect, ducting effective and the fog lights are bright. But the price is ridiculous, not much else to it.
