UPDATE: The Fuchs wheels arrived from Germany surprisingly fast - about 8 days from the date of my on-line order. Very prompt and helpful status reports from Otto Fuchs. Absolutely no issues with the order or shipping. I did have to pay UPS $70.52 in duties upon arrival, for a total cost of $3,191.41.

My plan is to take the tires off the Cup 1s that are on the car now and have them mounted on the Fuchs. However, when my local tire guy saw the new wheels, he was very nervous about mounting the tires, for fear his equipment would scratch the outer lip. So the wheels have now been delivered to an out-of-town shop with the proper equipment. The car will go up on Monday for the swap.

I'm anxious to see how the car looks with the Fuchs and will post photos here when this work is completed. Depending on how pleased I am with the new setup, I may decide to sell the Cup 1s. Thanks for the interest and advice!

My tire guy was equally concerned. It reinforces that you have bought pristine no story wheels. No kerb rash, stress cracks etc. I look forward to seeing the pics.

I too have been watching for a set of Fuchs since I got my 964 last year. Looking for used set of 16's but also contemplated the new 16" Braid/Fuchs I have seen offered in US. Just not ready for that investment as I am still getting to know her and sorting more important items.

Looking forward to seeing yours. I would do black centers too. I don't mind the D90s, but I LOVE the original Fuchs.

Default Wheels installed!

I finally got the tires mounted on the wheels today. Our weather has been just awful the last few days and the car is filthy dirty from the drive back from the shop but, as promised, here are a few quick shots of the car with the new wheels. I think it turned out pretty well - a bit of a "back date" look with the Fuchs and RSA tail. Opinions welcomed:

Sorry for the huge picture size! I reduced them to 50% but still awfully large.

The Fuchs center caps are OK, I think, but I will probably replace them with some Porsche caps.
