Great progress. Lots of heavy grime.

Those pics of the top of the engine are helpful for me because I need to start reassembling and didn't take the best pics of the routing of the fuel lines and harness.

seriously going to look great with all that stuff removed!
Kudos for taking this on at home and on your own!

don't forget about this relatively little leak on the green o-ring below the OP sender ...

It looks like you could get better sealing between cylinder and head. Have all cylinders machined to same length and have heads decked for flatness. Your choice on adding the seals between head and chlinder. Note how much is removed to get cylinders to same height and heads flat and then consider a gasket between cylinders and case. Jerry woods can make the metal gasket

Great progress. Things are looking pretty good so far. Great photos...looking forward to more. What type of oil are you using?

Porsche dealer here had recommended Mobil 1 0-40

here are some pics of my top tear down as you can see no gasket ring and it looks like thats where most of my leaks where coming from
didnt find any head studs lose yet, all stud nuts where on very strong

might have had leaks from the cam gaskets too

6 seems to have more carbon build up at the top of the cylinder around the rim

thoughts?

Hello Enso

First of all, I would like to congratulate you for all the job you are doing. I wish I could do the same, but I am not skilled enough!

Did you have the oportunity to check valves springs up to now?

An other question : in your first post you talk about "blue smoke" after high revs. Generaly this is a sign of worn valve guide. Did you check any play on your valves up to now? Is it possible to move the valves lateraly (by hand) when there is play between valve and valve guide?

Thanks for all pics that you made, I learn a lot by reading your post!

Hey Conrade's

the onion is getting smaller, i decided to take the motor apart to the crank
after removing the rods i noticed a line scare on the #3 crank
im hoping a polish will serf ice
i'll check for roundness and put all new bearings in

i sent the heads, cylinders, pistons. rods and rockers to Steve Weiner today

i'll wait to hear back from him before making a decision on new cylinders/pistons or using the old ones with a head gasket bore

cheers
glenn
