I would like to get a set of 17" Cup 1 wheels for my car, but i'm confused about sizes and in particular offsets. I have looked at a number of posts here but still end up getting confused.
Is there a simple way of knowing the sizes i need? I don't want to get any rubbing and i don't mind fitting spacers as i have them currently on the back. I have seen posts saying ET 50 or 52 for the front (with a 7.5J width) and 47 or 55 for the back (with a 9J width). Also seen that ET 15 and 23 are no good.
Can anyone give me some simple directions please as i don't want to end up finding the deal eBay wasn't that good after all![crying](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigcry.gif)
Cheers

Hi Simon,
Post up here any offsets and Js you find - we'll let you know.
But yes, essentially 7.5J ET 50-52 and 9J ET 47 will be a perfect fit. If you want easy fitment - max 8J front and 10J rear.
Cheers,

Original Cup 1 are 7J et 55 and 9J et 55
Mille Miglia replica Cup 1 are 7.5J et 52 and 9J et 47
Both will bolt straight on. The reps have different offsets to let them fill the arch more.
There is room on the rear to put spacers aswell but if you go too big then you might have rubbing problems on the arches. My experience with an et 47 rear and a 15 mm spacer is that tyre caught the arch when the suspension compressed.
There are also 8J original rears but I guess you're not interested in them.

oe fitments for a 964 were 7ET55 & 9 ET55
oe RS fitments which fit base 964 too were 7.5ET55 & 9ET55 and 8ET52 9.5ET68 w/21mm spacer(10ET65 w/ a slightly smaller spacer)
the widest wheels are hardest to fit and each install of them will present slightly different issues depending on tires , ride height and suspension setup.
the low o/s wheels are for 60's -80s 911 fitments

7J ET50
9J ET55
How will these go and what (if any) spacers would i need. I want to fill the arch nicely but don't want any rubbing.

The front's sound perfect. The rears could do with a little spacer 8mm max = 47... after that you'd gamble clearances and have to adjust cambers, ride height, tyre sizes etc.
For the spacer I wouldn't use a shim but an adapter. Anything above 5mm is dangerous imo.

Another question If the rear was a 9J ET70, would that mean it would need a bigger spacer, but would ultimately be too wide to fit (iff you see what i mean). Just trying to understand things a bit more.
Cheers
