Very interesting - have never seen a tach like that. Based on the headlight and turn signal indicators light in the lower part of the tach face it must be made for another vehicle adapted to the Porsche. Still interesting range

Ultra is (was) a gauge manufacturer in Japan., mostly for JDM applications. Don't know if they're still in business anymore.

The tach face does say "Made in Japan", so probably it's not the stock VDO

Looks like a stepper driven tach. Seen them alot in race cars where the lower rpm section is of little significance.
